For those complaining that their TV went off for a time and they missed seeing part of the game. Well I was at the game sitting in a chair back and I couldn't see much of the game. For what ever reason the Athletic Dept. has removed ushers ($$ saving?) and little kids and adults think it's okay to either stand and talk in the aisles or run up and down the steps having a great time. I don't blame the kids, I blame the Athletic Department for not having any ushers in place. Losing made it bad and not having ushers in place made it much worse.
P.S. Attendance for Rider (1652); for Siena (1537). Why don't I believe these figures.

Risto was on the floor, Agee was speechless, McGill crying, EJ furious, Perez head in hands. The team reacted the way you would want them to after a devastating loss. Not sure what the body language was 30 minutes after the game was over, but doesn’t surprise me they’re college kids. Agreed. I have never seen a Iona team react the way they did after such a tough loss like they did today. Since I hate myself I watched the last minute of the game on ESPN3 when I got home from the game. The cameras showed McGill bent over on the scoring table, Agee and Perez in shock and Ristanovic kicking over a chair. Couldn't see Crawford because I saw him running off the court right after the game. These kids were devastated after this loss. Have no problem how they are half hour after the game, with the Iona fans. Can say lots of things about this team, but they play hard and they care. They just don't have "it" that puts them over the top in these games. Like I posted in another thread, it will be interesting how they play Friday night. I predict they will play as lousy as they did against Siena and as bad as they have been the entire year. The coaches struck out on everyone they brought in here and McGill and Crawford have regressed. It's nice to see they care awwww but their are no trophies for participation. Bryant has 8 wins, Iona 7. Maybe they should join the MAAC.

Looking back at the game a day later and the last few games and the poor start at the beginning of the year it seems Iona play pretty well when McGill plays well and McGill seems to be more likely to play well when Agee is getting a lot of quality minutes. Basically Iona needs to get healthy and have McGill and Agee play well. Also our best stretch was when Gist was coming off the bench and hitting 3’s. Last few losses all 3 of them have not played well and this led to 3 losses. If these 3 can play well and the team can get and stay healthy (Perez and Risto), I still think we have the second best team in the Maac, but maybe I’m asking too much?
The one consistent we have is Crawford, he has played well most nights, but we have to find a way to have the ball in his hands when it gets to crunch time, and you can put this on Cluess.

Agreed Joebird. Also let’s not forget the team has been short handed and/or unhealthy all season long. Gotta believe we will be dangerous in Albany if we come in with some momentum and continuity with a healthy roster.

EJ has been terrific this season IMO. The offense really needs to revolve around him. Don’t forget he is still playing out of his natural position and is being asked to do a LOT to pick up the slack for the rest. I think he can be a POY type candidate next season.

There has been NO mention of the timeline which Still will be out. I don't understand the secrecy. We have had a few players in walking boots and an ultra thin bench.

While this is great in theory, we are basically asking complimentary type players (McGill, Agee, EJ, and Gist) to take over games. I don't believe that's possible on a consistent basis. The composition of this team is different then in years past.

He is just as talented and dangerous as any other scoring threat in the league IMO.

Crawford can score with any player in the MAAC, but to get to star status he has to show he can take over a game. Crawford scored with 9:05 remaining to put Iona up 46-39. His name doesn't show up in the play-by-play again until 3:07 remaining when he made a layup to end a Siena 15-0 run that covered 6 minutes. Not even a shot, rebound. Nothing. He then played aggressive that list minute of the game getting to the line twice. Siena didn't have a player that could guard him down low. Crawford was 6-7 from inside the arc, he just can't go 6 minutes without a shot attempt. 19 points on 11 shots is a great game, but needs to be more of a force

1970, as for attendance it certainly looked like there were a lot more at the Rider game. Heard a lot of fans asking (yesterday) where are the students. My guess would be about a 500 difference. And while there some Siena fans there, nothing like the old days. JMO.

So to say in this league that they are complimentary players is wrong. In this bad league Iona has as much talent as anyone except Rider. I don’t think they will win the tourney this year but they do have a chance, and probably the third or fourth best chance. In Maac years past this team would have virtually no shot, but you have to look at the competition. Get this team healthy and with Cluess’s history, the Gaels will be dangerous come tourney time.
