as much as it was 3-5 in game 1 a big reason we won was the 5 guys that didn't help us also didn't hurt us, combining for only 1 t/o.At the beginning of the year bad t/o's were killing us in the close gamez we were losing. Baby steps from those 5, combine for 15 and take care of the ball and we will move on. Good point. We don't need them to walk on water but something positive would be helpful. That would be cool, though.

Think I rather see Iona play Siena than Rider, even if it means playing in front of 8k of their fans. Rider has more talent than Siena, and if they finally get over the hurdle of winning a quarterfinal game they may very well go on a run thru the rest of the tournament. Siena relies on a freshman PG. Yes, Pickett is very good and had a great season but can be defended with size and being played physical.

Siena All-Time vs Iona in Postseason play: It is clear that the narrative of Siena only facing Iona in postseason play when they had bad teams is just silly. They have lost 3 MAAC finals on their home court. Twice they lost to Iona in the MAAC finals after Siena won the regular season championship. They also lost 3 games after winning 20+ games. What must really hurt their pride is the fact that they have lost 8 postseason games to Iona on their home court.

I know why you’re saying about Pickett but after 30 plus games he really isn’t a Froshn at this point.

SPU ignored the sweep theory and beat Marist a third time.

With us only playing six guys Siena may be a better opponent, based on style of play. Siena is well coached though and has some size, and the PG is a smart player.

Rider definitely has more talent than Siena. I don't care that it's the Saints homecourt, that hasn't bothered us at all. I know they say beware what you wish for but I'm rooting for Siena tonight.

With only six guys Siena may be a better opponent. Siena is well coached though and has some size, and the PG is a smart player. True Siena has some size, but they don't play big. They start Degnan, Fisher and Seymour all 6'9'', but they don't crash the boards. Seymour has a total of 23 rebounds this season. My fear is Iona's biggest weakness is defensive rebounding, which is something Rider can exploit. If Iona defends like they did last night they will lose no matter who they play. Rider had 28 offensive rebounds in the 2 games vs Iona, while Siena only had 16. I know it sounds crazy to say Iona matches up better with a team they split with rather than one they swept, but those offensive rebounding numbers are a concern. Another interesting stat are fouls. In 2 games vs Rider, Iona had 33 fouls and only 18 vs Siena. That's because of the difference in styles Siena and Rider play. With no depth foul trouble can also come into play. Like I said, no matter who Iona plays they will have to defend and hit a decent percentage from three, so I rather see the Gaels vs a team where they shouldn't get into serious foul trouble nor get beat up on the defensive boards
