He went into the stands twice--during the on court celebration, long after game was over and he had gone to the locker room. Was escorted out and returned after the awards ceremony while the nets were being cut down.

Guys, Got home late last night after a long travel day which followed the post game festivities which lasted until 4:00 AM. Couple of random observations:
-Traveled with team earlier in the season and was really worried about team chemistry. This trip was entirely different. Kids really pulling for each other with the expected banter, fooling around, etc.
-Coaching staff clearly understands roles and are much more engaged than earlier.
-Absolutely thought Gist would be MVP or All-Tournament for sure--In the SPU game he had 2 points, but 4 assists and 0 turnovers. (Someone else pointed out that he had only 3 tos for the entire tournament.) That kid is intense.
-Perez was "deer in the headlights" for game 1 although he did a good job defensively on Pickett. Really helped in last 2 games with 22 points, 7 steals and 10 rebounds. (Nice that his parents came in from California. They love Iona.)
-Risto had some moments as he averaged 20 minutes per game, 4 blocks including a key block of a 3, a thunderous dunk, 13 rebounds, and had 2-3 balls he tapped back after missed shots in the Monmouth game to keep the clock running, especially with Ricky & Tajuan on the bench. Cluess loved those tap backs.
-Met Ensor (who recognized us) in hotel elevator on Sunday and mentioned that this was our 38th consecutive MAAC tourney. Asked him how things were going. He said that this was the 38th and things were "automatic." Just what you'd expect from someone whose time has come.
-Unbelievable watching King Rice go into the stands twice, long after the game was over. Reminiscent of his behavior after his team lost to Siena 2 years ago when he was cursing out Iona fans who were taunting him with cheers of "NIT, NIT!" He called for security to go after the fans. Nothing happened. (Recall him after the Washingtom slap incident at the HAC. Rice slowly walked across the court blowing kisses at the Iona fans booing him.) One needs only to read the last Daily Dose of Hoops about Mommouth to see this outsized ego make the whole team journey about him. Psychotic!
-Attendance overall was light with none of the crowd intensity of "the old days." Siena fans did not turn out Sunday, and our performance insured a quiet evening. Monmouth fans did not travel.
-Still is having much difficulty recovering from the concussion
-We are very active with recruitment with some prospects being targeted. Staff is very optimistic.
-Most of the rest captured in various threads.
We have the most publicly underappreciated/unrecognized great coach. Accomplishments have been incredible. He has a great supportive family.

Great stuff Super! First confirmation Still has a concussion. sorry to hear he is having trouble after all this time, that is very tough, especially with all the other injury problems he has had. By the way he was called for the foul on the play he got the concussion, have to love Maac refs.
How does Rice not get suspended for his behavior? Going into the stands and getting into an altercation with fans that required security intervention? That is completely unacceptable behavior, and he should be suspended by either the MAAC or Monmouth. There is precedent with him, too.
Super, thanks. For the info, opinion and long time support of the program.
In hindsight, I was worried going into the game, since it seemed that Monmouth had better depth, more athletic players and a VG big man. But after watching the tape of the game, I should have realized that Monmouth was made for an Iona victory. Just consider: 1. On defense, in most games we drop off our man to double down low, with the result that the ball is kicked out for an open three. With Monmouth that was great so that we could help on Quinn inside and the Hawks are not a good 3pt shooting team. 2. On offense Agee vs. Quinn was a no contest. Agee can shoot from deep and if he had to, he'd be able to drive to the basket, since Quinn couldn't stay with him. 3. I'm sure the Staff had this figured out before the game, while I had to wait until after the game.
P.S. This would have been a 30+ victory if Rickey and Tajuan hadn't gotten into foul trouble.

Great job, Super.
How did Perez look after the game? It looked like he got whacked pretty hard in the face with 1:30 left.
Ensor's departure is way overdue. He's killing the conference.
Coach goes into standstwicelong after game is over--what more do you need/want?
Nobody said he was packing!
I'll say it better: I mean I was hoping he kinda lost it to the point of causing a real scene. He's a jackass for going up there twice, no question, but it generally seemed "peaceful". When you want to watch a train wreck, you want to see the train go off the tracks!
Great report earlier, Super!
Re Still, I'm no doctor but if his concussion is that severe my guess is he won't be playing sports any more.
