Apparently Ensor in the post game press conference went on about how Iona’s dominance isn’t good for the conference. Not the time to make that particular point, especially coming from a “leader” that defines complacency. Doesn't matter. Do you think the conference commissioner for the WCC pisses and moans that Gonzaga always wins. A team should not have to defend itself for being successful.

What Iona has done is truly amazing! First ever 4 time maac champ. First team in metro area to get to 4 straight tourneys since seton hall in early 90’s and one of just 3 teams with 4 straight tourney championships (2 if Kentucky loses). The NY media needs to make a bigger deal about Iona’s run-as does the college basketball world. By the way I believe the Ny post did not even send a reporter to the Maac championship, first time ever, a disgrace!!

They will make sure the St John’s Assistant SID is representing the Post at St Chicken games.

Moving The maac out of the prime time Monday spot and up against the majors should get him fired as well. Wait to you see the difference in publicity next year vs this. No one will even notice the maac is playing and not sure we will even be on tv, that alone should have eliminated ac.

If Ensor did make this comment, he should be ashamed of himself. He should be stating how he wishes the other programs in the MAAC were at the level of play that IONA has achieved. Now is not the appropriate time, but at seasons end, a thread needs to be started on how the league is going to step up and become a viable competitor outside of conference. The level of overall play can and must improve in the MAAC.

Want to go to bed on a positive. A truly special night for Iona, what they did tonight with the 4 in a row may never be duplicated, except for the 5 next year, when McGill and Crawford stand alone as 4 time champs. We have a gem in Cluess and we are very fortunate!!! Love how much better this team has become, no longer think they have no chance in a 1 16 game, the perfect game and the miracle can happen! As OT said sometime surprises happen when you least expect it!

McGill mvp because only one ever with 4 championship. Crawford and Agee on first team. gist with all time snub and not even on all tourney team I don't think it matters to Gist. I sense he's the kind of kid who doesn't need the accolades and just wants to help the team out. Who knows, this may work out to be a net positive where he's hungry to prove his merit going forward. Whether or not it matters to Gist wasn’t the point. He was at least first team and objectively in the MVP discussion.

The level of overall play can and must improve in the MAAC. He actually said having a dominant team like Iona, makes it harder for the other programs, and discourages them. Lol. What an idiotic statement. Maybe Fairfield and Niagara fired their coaches today because they realized they couldn't stay with the status quo.

Did anyone notice Gary Cohen(mets announcer) standing behind McGill at the post game interview ?? He had the national radio call for Westwood One. He usually handles the MAAC title game for them, and always comes to me for last-minute prep with both teams.

I don’t remember if Howie was up there last year...except for Josh from the Journal News coming up tonight, the only regular Iona media this weekend was myself and Ryan from the Ionian.
