Great problems to have for the Gaels. I figure the starting five will be interchangeable. The rotation could be very, very deep but that's really not Cluess MO. Gonna be great to see how it all plays out.

So according to Rothstein, 3 guards and 2 forwards will be starting. Just instead of Thiam it will be Dylan Van Eyck. Interesting take on him.
Excited to see how things develop.

Love the potential of this starting five. Ristanovic Perez Mcneil Thiam Cashaw Nikolic Ross. Guys better practice hard if they want PT.

Don't forget, our second (maybe third?) best player against the Tar Heels was Ristanovic.

Don't forget, our second (maybe third?) best player against the Tar Heels was Ristanovic. Oh I haven't forgot. I think the reason we start 2 forwards is the fact that we have Ristanovic and Thiam or Van Eyck coming off the bench. It allows flexibility based upon the matchups like guy said.

I don't think "starting 5" matters as much as overall minutes played.
Of course, it's all gonna vary from game to game, and even from possession to possession depending on need. Obviously Cluess will have a certain 5 out there if Iona's down 3 with 20 seconds to go than he might have out here if Iona's up 2 with 20 ticks left.
Estimating minutes below. Now, this won't add up because I'm giving ranges, but here's how I'd guess it will go--and I say this not even having attended our scrimmage.
35-40 Crawford 30-35 Gist 25-30 Agee (generally limited by occasional foul trouble) 25-30 Jelly 20-25 Perez 15-20 Thiam 15-20 Van Eyck 10-15 Risto 10-15 McNeil 10-15 Cashaw 10-15 Ross 5-10 Nikolic
Again, apologies if that doesn't add up very well, but it looks OK.
Also--this is how I see it through, say, mid-January to perhaps even February. By year's end there will be a couple more guys around 25-30 and probably 3-4 guys playing 0-10.

Just think we're underestimating McNeil's impact. Some combo of Perez/Risto minutes.

I think he will have games where he stands out, and by the end of the year it will get more often. He has excellent form on his 3 point shot, and great percentages last year taking it. In addition he is a phenomenal athlete.
