Who is responsible for scheduling? It was horrible last year and so far this year it appears underwhelming.

SLG...the AD job is all about results, and under his watch the results have been there without question. He’s went about his job quietly and professionally and he’s gotten the job done. What results? He has filled three coaching jobs. Jury is still out on all three. Glad to hear that he is professional. Evidently, he has won you over. AS for doing his job quietly, your comment reminds me of advice I once got when new to a senior management position. "Remember Socrates!" "He spoke his mind, and they poisoned him." Another adage with regards to upper management! He is doing well on his first year if he can figure out where the bathroom is. Mr. Glovaski has a long way to go to show results. SLG...your legacy as a senior manager will be defined by the results and outcomes that happened under your watch — business performance, employment growth, how many promotions happened underneath you, etc. No different for Mr Glovaski. He will be remembered as an AD for results that happened while he led the athletic department and nothing else. And so far his results are pretty damn good.

What are the results so far? - $6MM committed to facility upgrade - Cluess long-term contract - 3 (4?) MAAC championships

What are the results so far? - $6MM committed to facility upgrade - Cluess long-term contract - 3 (4?) MAAC championships Not one of these is attributable to Glovaski. Facility (singular) was planned and prioritized several years ago. Did Glovaski conduct a fund raising campaign for facilities? NO! I get giving credit to Jared Grasso for some of men's BB success, but Glovaski? The Volleyball Coach left - for an assistant job. Cross Country? Show me the recruits for 2019 who will build on the streak. Has he stepped in and fired a coaching legend at Iona because of poor results? NO! Has he hired a Coach such as a Kevin Willard, or a Tim Cluess, or a Tony Bozella, or a Patric Santiago, or a Billi Chambers, or a Sean Burke? Maybe. We have not yet seen the results of his hires. And no, the asst coaches are not responsible for scheduling. The AD is. He/she may delegate to coaching staff, but the AD is still responsible. Look, Glovaski seems like he is a good drinking buddy. AS AD - SHOW ME!

I think Matt is doing an admirable job, and I think most of us appreciate it. SLG brings up some valid points, but I still think overall he is doing well and the fact that our basketball team is such a success does speak well for him. On the different topic of scheduling, I'm not as caught up in it as many of you are. There are definitely some challenges, and some of it is due to our success. Having said that, it is a little disturbing that one of our board members was responsible for part of the schedule a couple of years ago. Would be nice to think the staff was a little more on top of things.

What a shitshow this thread is. Constantly blown away with the ignorance, which is only surpassed by the arrogance.

Scheduling is hard for us, we rely on buy games to fund the program, but I believe teams offer us less since its not an automatic win. The ridiculous 2 games against the shit challenge is also bad because the games are awful and it is right before Thanksgiving tournaments. I believe we only have a few games scheduled with one buy game. I know we were trying to host games this year but teams have to be willing to come here and it's not like we make $$$ on home games to offer teams to come here.

Pretty damn good way to be remembered if you ask me. Leaders get credit for the results even when they might not be directly responsible for them. It comes with the territory. Glovaski deserves the credit for these outcomes.
