I hate to get overly hyped at this point. However, when thinking back just a few months after KW left, after the apparent flirtation with Fran and after the loss of our 2 incoming recruits things certainly seem to have taken a decidedly different turn. Our AD stepped out of the box and made a decision few, if any, D1 ADs would have had the guts to make. From that point on, what has seemed to be "the perfect storm" for Iona Basketball has taken place. I don't think there is one person who could have seen that we would be at this place only 4 months later. I once again would like to thank and congratulate Pat Lyons on putting this all in motion!

Agree, Doomy.
And let's not forget that the first move made by Cluess--literally an hour or two after getting the job--was getting Jared Grasso on board. This move was a must for a metro area coach making the jump from D-II to D-I, and clearly the move paid off. October can't get here fast enough!

I'm speechless! Congratulations to TC, JG and the rest of the staff for such a fantastic job in the few months they've been at Iona.

WOW!!!!! If the Basketball magazines for this coming season have not already been set up and ready to go to press without the knowledge of our two late recruits, it would be my guess that we are now the pre-season MAAC favorites......The later coaches poll will have that knowledge and will be a true forecast....
It is hard to see those 6-8 minutes of lack of scoring..With this team. It appears to have many options, and if one can't do it, the other will...Coach T.C. has certainly matched his players to the style he likes to play.....
A job well done Staff......
Go Gaels!!!!!!!

Mike McFadden Scott Machado Rashon Dwight Trinity Fields Jermel Jenkins Alejo Rodriguez Kyle Smyth Chris Pelcher Alkesandra Kesic Sean Armand Jayon James Mike Glover Randy DeZouvre The only 2 that I believe were ahead of this group are: - the 79-80 team with Ruland, Vickers, Hamilton, Middleton, & Palma with Glen McMillan, Tony Iati, Vesey, and Williams - 83-84 team with Grimes, Springer, Burtt, Hargraves, Coleman, Truesdale, Russell, Crockett, Foley,

Is James better rated than Glover? Truly amazing to get such good players so late in the process. The future is so bright it is scary. Iona has to be the pre season favorite if you factor in these 2 pick ups.

Love the Fordham board. Poster "85" spews "many of us are sick of these ad nauseum Zagoria-Grasso verbals that come out all the time." He adds, "I view them as nothing more than speculative at best, subject to change, solely for the purpose of Grasso getting his name in print or on-line." The kicker: "Often they involve players who are light years from qualifying."
Does this poor guy know anything about Armand and James, who could go to almost any college even without their basketball skills? He's just another victim of the national Fordham "education."
