Softball interview, ic59. We're going to need a deep bench and better free throw shooting to advance. Those missed front ends of the 1 and 1's was more concerning than Laury's issues. Poole was the highlight for me today. Much better shot selection from him lately.

This was the kind of game we might have lost last year, getting a big lead early and losing it down the stretch. Lucky for us, St. Peter's is not a good offensive squad. Like others, have to wonder why subs did not get into the game; it is obvious that our guys "ran out of gas", understandable with quick turn around from Friday night. Mike Poole has certainly changed my opinion of him; he has become indispensable and for me was the star of this game. The fact that we were able to win despite subpar performances by Armand, Bowman, Williams and even English is a positive of sorts, but this sort of effort will certainly not do against Manhattan.

I thought SPs played more aggressive and better D in the second half. They should've been just as tired as we were as they played at the same time Fri night also.

Geez surprised to hear so many negative comments about today's performance. We got a road conference win in a place that hasn't been kind to us in recent years, held on to a lead to pull out the late win, moved into a two way tie for first place, are playing are best basketball all season, and currently have the best record we've had since the beginning of the season. Let's just be happy and loom forward to the big game on Friday without too much nitpicking.

Not nitpicking, 05. A win is a win. But we are going to need a bench to win the tourney in little over a month. Why not give the starters a little rest and the bench PT when up 20. Plus, in any sport, fatigue can lead to injury.

I hear you Jerry. Believe we were in a similar spot last season with light bench but then got contributions when we needed them late in the season. I'm not worried.

They played Thursday, had an extra day to rest and prepare. Cluess made a comment on pre game interview basically showing he was annoyed at this.

I believe the coach has shown that he knows how to manage his players over time.

"Any conference road win is good"......Agree
"regardless of how you get it".....Disagree. Big time. For reasons mentioned above. This is a marathon not a sprint (cliché). We could have won this game and played the bench.

Not real upset just happy to win since they caused us consternation last year. Let's have a good week of practice and take care of any injuries and get ready for Friday. Will be a good game to gauge what we might see at tournament time.

We could have won this game and played the bench. One last thought. Could coach have gone with the short bench partially because he knew his next game wasn't until Friday night?
