Joe Lunardi's Bracketology shows Monmouth being in the #16 Seed Play In Game. Clearly, the MAAC has not distinguished itself in the OOC games. I guess beating another #16 in the Play In or "First Round" is considered an NCAA Tourny win, but I would rather see Iona run the table and move up and out of this position. My Guess is that the MAAC Representative will be a #16 unless it is Iona, who could earn as high as a #14. I would think Iona's odds of beating a #3 seed would be well under 10%.

I tweeted the same thing two days ago.

jerry palm has the maac in the play in game also Yes. but as Dan Simms pointed out it is only because Monmouth is the projected Champ with a 183 RPI versus Iona at 75.

I think our seed range would be 13-15, with a 15 being a long shot in that mix. RPI Forecast has our most likely RPI in the 60-75 range, which is too rich for 15 seeds' blood. Way too early to speculate, though.

If we keep winning, obviously, our rpi will be fine. If we lose a few, let's hope they're on the road. Glad the bench stepped up again last night. I'm concerned Sed might hit the proverbial wall right about now. He's played a lot and its a long season for a freshman, factoring in adjusting to school, travel, etc. Everyone contribute!!!

Bleacher Report had us the other day as a #14 versus #3 Texas.
Also, I noticed on a Bracketology site that the year end projection trend had us as high as a 12, which I feel is too high.
If Iona is able to roll through the conference, I feel a 14 seed makes sense, with the possibility of a 13 if there are a number of upsets in similar rated conferences.

If we tear through the MAAC we will be in the conversation for a 13 seed. It's really early, and gotta figure that one of our wins against FGCU, Cleveland, Wake or ISU will be somewhat impressive by end of season.
Let's not forget that last year we were more likely to be a 13 seed than a 14 seed with a worse OOC body of work than we have this year. Of course the conference is worse this year than last, but still think we will be right there. We can't afford many slip-ups from here on out, but a 27-7 team with an RPI in the high 50s is much closer to the resume of a 13 than a 15.

Hoping they can pull off a ridiculous upset or two in conference. I think they play Duke next.

And that won't be the upset. Well Bill may be upset. Maybe Duke will think its a road game instead of a home game or vice versa and fail to show up? You never know There is a site out there that aggregates all the bracketology websites/predictions and gives teams a composite seeding. I'll look for it later and post it.
