Shoutout to my fellow Iona fans behind the bench. I was in a little bit of a mood so I stayed to myself. But if any of you are here, let me know. (Plus after the first two minutes the festive feeling was gone). I was there-1st row as was Iona05 and Gregcrow. We were joined by about 25 fans/family/friends. I'm hoping that some of the guys on the board are staying away from sharp objects, Super, Hi I'm Tom. Was in grey sweatshirt with maroon Iona lettering. As I rewatch the game, I can say I was the guy with his arms crossed and shaking his head most of the game. If any of you head out to more Valpo games let me know. Tom

Many people have brought up we had new players and Valpo returned all 5 guys, its not bad to bring back 3 starters in college. My main question is if Valpo brought everyone back with the same coach why were not prepared to play them on wither end of the floor, did they change their whole game plan against us? Stop being reasonable! I don't think I understand the question. Is it if Valpo hasn't changed from last year, why weren't we better prepared to play them on either end of the floor? All I can say is that the coaches I'm sure installed a game plan and the players have to execute it, whatever it is. That is the same for both teams. One team had like 8 guys who understood their roles and what they had to do and had played together all of last year so they had a lot of continuity. The other team I'm sure understood their game plan and what they had to do and worked in like five new guys, all of whom were playing their first game together. Even watching young kids in youth sports has taught me that the longer a team plays together the more chemistry, continuity, and cohesiveness they have. So when things become challenging they already "know" instinctively what each other will do, what they have to do and how to do it together. It's not just me. Most college basketball fans will tell you that a team returning all of its starters will have an advantage early in the season over a team working new guys in. Its kind of common sense I think. As the season progresses, the gaps will close and talent, discipline, and character will make the difference.

My guess is no. Remember that this and the Oregon St game are part of a preseason event.

Guy, what you said makes sense. Wish they were coming in, as it would have been a VG add to our sked. B/t/w, they are on TV tomorrow morning at 10AM against URI.
