Iona05, is Much eligible? And you don't mention Ricky. Both are here!

After wavering between 6 1/2 and 7 1/2, the line has settled and will probably come to rest at 7 points... Between home court and heavy foul shot advantage Valpo...IMO on a neutral court Valpo a couple of points favorite, and at our court we would be aprox. 2-3 point favorite....
We in days gone past usually had a modest home court advantage but in recent years that has increased to a above home court advantage...

Embarrassing performance by the team. Just completely unprepared. Falls on the staff for sure. Expected better, bunch of new guys or not.

Embarrassing loss with many contributing factors.
1. Poor scheduling. Should have played a game before this. 2. Terrible ball movement. Did we just meet? 3. Way too much Much. The guy is a 10-15 minute a game sub. 4. Refusal to pass to Washington in the post. Dumb. 5. AJ non-existent for first 30 minutes. 6. We don't close out on shooters on D. Same as last 5 years. 7. Team looked unprepared. See also point 1 above. 8. No apparent adjustments by staff during the game. More of the same not a strategy when you are getting your head handed to you. 9. Valpo wanted this game more than Iona. A lot more. 10. Have to hit open shots. 11. Equal blame to players and staff.
Lotta talent here. Have to plan and execute better than we did today.
Learn from this and turn the page.

If Much is our primary offensive option, we're in big trouble.
Lots of work to do... clearly not ready for prime time.

Here comes one of my most negative posts ever. Wish I could have seen this team practice because I wouldn't have been as surprised but this awful effort. We are simply not as good as last year and that is because David Laury graduated.
This team misses Laury so much its crazy. We miss his inside scoring, we miss his passing, dribbling and point guard ability, we even miss his inside defense believe it or not and the combination of Roundtree, Washington and Bessick isn't even half of Laury.
That is my next biggest complaint, the new guys just aren't that great. Washington does have some ability and potential but he is no where near Glover or Laury. Roundtree is just a complimentary player as is Bessick, and that is what I thought I saw in Bessick last year at Meet the Gaels.
Much has some ability but is a bit out of control.
Amayo looks worse and is not a point guard and probably not healthy.
English can't score against a top notch tough defender and desperately needs a point guard to help him.
IBN-we probably need him to play more but it makes us too small.
Casimir-has trouble scoring against tall good top notch defenders.
IW-Didn't look himself but a lot of that was probably Valpo's defense
Our coaching staff still doesn't coach defense.
I don't want to hear Valpo is good, they are strong but not a top 25 team, we should not get killed by them if we are any good. We are going to be in deep trouble because we have no inside game and no point guard. Monmouth is better and we are probably going to have trouble winning more than 14 Maac games.
Sorry but this is my analysis, this is what I saw, kill me if you want.

I'm looking at this as "just one game" -- an embarrassing one, but just one game, nevertheless. It was hard to watch us get manhandled like that, though. I kept thinking, "when are we going to score within 4 seconds of a made basket like we have done in the past?" We were so out of rhythm that it was not possible. Hopefully, we will put on a better show at Oregon State. Hats off to Valpo, they kicked our asses.
Go Gaels!!!

Don't have a problem losing to a better team, but at least compete. Possibly the worst performance since TC has been coach. No excuse to play this poorly. looked like they never practiced before. Fairfield putting up a better fight at North Carolina, only down 5 with 3 minutes remaining in the half.

And my point on Laury was answered that The 3 guys would be better. It's only one game, but Laury was a proven great player. The others are not at the D1 level yet.

Agree that it's just one game, and many of us said 0-2 is likely anyway.
That said, if we get crushed at Oregon St, it'll be clear that we are not going to be a great team. Maybe THAT is a positive, because Cluess' one not-great team is the one that won the MAAC. Here's hoping we're complaining about a 15 seed about 4 months from now.

Ugly, I bought into this year, great additions, strong returnees. Ya gotta believe!! I believe the Gaels didn't spend alot of time on 'D'in practice. C'om guys, you're much better than this.
