Waiting for the great scout from I86. But this is some info. Per247 sports, Davis is a 3-star recruit ranked #214 and the #37 nationally ranked PG, and rising in the rankings. Ranked well ahead of HM PG recruits. Get this kid, prefer him over grad transfers. Let's see the promised player development and then add a grad transfer to supplement the roster He has a great name for a PA announcer - CARUUUUUUUUUUZ Davis!

Reminds me a bit of Marcus Hammond.

Cruz Davis - 6'3" PG out of Lewisville, TX - Played at Hunting Prep, one of the premiere hoops programs in the country and iSchool of Lewisville, TX. A skilled left-handed playmaker. Is great in transition and can finish at the rim. Good shooter that has show improvement on his 3 point shooting and a lock down defender who has the tools to get even better with a little muscle on his frame. Quick and deceptive getting to the hoop and sees the court very well. People who have seen him play believe he is a very special player who is way better than his current rankings. He was dominant playing EYBL. Is good friends with Keyonte George, ★★★★★ Baylor commit and former Iona recruit, who transferred to Davis's HS to play with him Junior year.
Ratings: ESPN - ★★★★ Rivals - ★★★ 247 - ★★★
Offers: Georgetown, Houston, Oregon State, SMU, TCU
Interest: Mississippi

I86? From what I can find, he's a 6'4" G, scored 12ppg, but didn't shoot very well. Can't find him on verbal commits, so I guess doesn't hold any offers

I’ll say it again -
When Nelly is in foul trouble, what guards will be our go-to for points in the clutch?
Who can we count on as a knock-down shooter?
I’m willing to be patient. But I’m just not seeing it…in these spoken-of visits.

Hard to argue, but will say this, with lots of targets committing elsewhere and appearing not to be in the mix for Bonham and Williams, Cruz Davis is very important to get a commitment from. Watched a few YouTube videos of his games. Kid is really good. Nice handle who plays under control and very good perimeter shooter.

He’s a nice player and I think Ayo and Florence are nice players too. But if we’re relying on 3 freshman to be the catalyst to Nelly, it’s gonna be a long season. We’ve seen what Pitino thinks of most freshman not named Nelly or Walt.
