I'll start by saying that I have no idea if this is true. But I believe I heard that a company/university in Oxford, England hopes to have a vaccine ready by September. Also, heard that meant 30M dosages. Did anyone else hear this? Yes I heard it as well, though this does seem very optimistic. linkThe way vaccines have been produced and tested in the past there is no chance, but working on different stages at the same time from many different companies makes an early 2021 vaccine possible, not probable, more unlikely than likely but possible. Don’t want to get too political but the most disgusting thing about this pandemic is certain people would prefer things not get better until after the election just because they have such disdain for Trump. This sickens me! Joe: You just got very political. If this pandemic does not get better until after the election, it's because the management of the pandemic by the federal level has been one humungous stumble f**k. Just look at the trends in the attached graph. I get it that the "red necks" here in Missouri buy the white House bull shit. Please get off the stupid pills - you are better than that.

This started when I tried to make a basketball related statement saying it was more likely that fans can attend games in January vs November. Not worth my time to go back on forth on this.
We should all be in this together hoping this virus goes away as soon as possible and we get back to watching and talking basketball, but from what I’ve seen, heard and read many are not in this together. I will say no more on this subject.

Good for you Joe! Political differences will always be a dividing factor and are not getting resolved on this board.
I read this board and follow sports to get away from politics so hopefully that doesn't change here.

BTW what is sad about current discourse is not so much that many people argue, it’s that so many people argue in bad faith and ascribe ugly motives to the other tribe, imo.

You mean like when a post reads that certain people don’t want people to get better or that what they have seen, heard or read MANY are not in this together. I think I read this in the Thread

My Son was notified by McGill that there would be distance, digital learning only in the fall. No students on campus. McGill has an undergrad population of about 25k. I think this will be the model for the larger schools, who won’t be able to effectively use social distancing on campus due to the size of the student population. Of course Canadian Universities don’t place the same emphasis on athletics as US schools do, so we’ll have to see how things play out for US schools.

Just heard men’s basketball players are allowed to return to campus beginning June 1st for Voluntary workouts. Wonder if Iona being in the not yet opened mid Hudson section qualifies?

Several schools in last week have said they are coming back, we may have a season after all with some new world thinking. Maybe even some fans at games, for example 500 fans at Hines games spread out, season ticket holders have to commit to games and pay a fine if they don’t Show. Season tickets gets you every third game. Games at garden have 4,000 fans spread out throughout the arena. Must sit in your seat, ushers take you to seat. Temperatures taken for all entering. Cant exit arena until it’s your turn. Players also go through precautions before each practice and games. Will have to be out of the box thinking.
With all this said biggest obstacle now could be if it pops back up in fall, could lead to last second delays or cancellations.
Seems like many ways this can go.
