I think the biggest question I now have is how will the backcourt minutes be distributed after Reaves? Although Tobin likely knows who he expects to get those minutes, he has recruited in a way where he has lot of possibilities, and he won’t really know until he sees these guys compete against each other and what they show in actual games.
I honestly can't believe you're bringing this up again.
Guy, I don't recall EVER asking about the number of guys in the rotation. If you or your pet dog (I can) can find that post let me know. And I realize that I do forget a lot of stuff, but just don't remember asking it. And, while I do remember asking about PG's, the answers (which I didn't agree with) were mostly from Guy and 1970. Just would like to hear what TA thinks. Probably embolden by TA's take on going with a big front line, since I had suggested that back in April. Have to say most of the replies to my suggestion were not well received.
That s not the question he was talking about stunad
Very informative Podcast! Great job. Based on this think we will see some 3 big men sets with Biggie at the 3. One question I have is the Charleston home game still on the board.?Thinking we may have lost that with their coaching change.
Mentions Charleston game at 27:30 minute mark( on YouTube) link

Reading comp, reading comp, reading comp. What was the FIRST question I asked. Don't you have any interest about how many players will make up the 'rotation'?

You are correct, you did not ask about number of players in the rotation. So my snarky comment was only half necessary.
Re that, you know Tobin wants to run a pressing system--how many players would you think he'd want in that rotation? It's not going to be 8 guys unless 5 guys turn out to not be very good. And right now, it is impossible for anyone to know just how many guys will be in the rotation, since they haven't even begun workouts yet. But given the pressing style, the target number is "as many as possible."
So you're admitting you don't like the answer that Reaves will be the guy who has the ball in his hands the most because he is likely the best player on the team. I would recommend you give the podcast another listen, as Tobin said the mistake he made last year was trying to create an all star team, and this year he went out and got guys who will be the stars and guys who are willing to do the intangibles. Reaves will probably play 30 min a game and as such he'll have the ball in his hands more than any other player. No, Tobin doesn't know who else will definitely handle the ball because they haven't worked out yet, but my guess is it will be one of the other seven guards. Also--remember, last year, it changed midcourse. Early on, Tretout--who is not even what you would call a "point guard"--had the ball a ton because he was our best player and scorer. By season's end, that became JQ. So, my guess is that Reaves will have the ball in his hands the most, but as the confidence of other guards grow--particularly the sophs and frosh--they'll have more of a hand in things, which will make us a better team.

Guy, needless to say, I like this answer MUCH better. And reading into your take, I'm guessing that we'll have a ten or eleven man rotation. And hopefully, you'll ask TA if that seems reasonable. But, I have an area of possible disagreement with your opinion. And pre-portal it would have been probable disagreement. And, again I'm going back to April and my proposed lineup. The sharkman told me he thought I had my guards backward, and I have to agree with him. He feels that Njie will be a starter, and his inference was that he was our future, while Reaves will only be here for a year. Now a backcourt of Njie and Reaves gives me great hope for this year, but TA has to think of the future as well. And, I think he learned a lesson last year of giving the seniors too much PT. Hence, 30 minutes for Reaves might be too much, as you pointed out that we will press a lot.
And when talking to TA, remember while he might not know things since he hasn't seen the team on the court, he does have a feel/plan on how they will lineup. And based upon your latest podcast, he seems willing to share. Fingers crossed.

I have Njie starting too. But you're still comparing a senior who averaged 15ppg last year to a freshman. You're also not realizing that Reaves probably got the most NIL to come here. He IS going to be featured. He IS going to have the ball in his hands. And he IS going to play a lot. These are not opinions.

Don't doubt a word of the above post. Just with the 30 minutes of PT, since our guard group is deep, and while it's just my opinion, I think that they are also VG. As for NIL, and thinking back to last season, I couldn't understand why Panzo was getting so much PT, when his performance didn't seem to match. TA said he learned from last year, so if Reaves plays a lot I think it will be based upon VG performance. Don't see his PT having too much to do with NIL, even if it is A factor.
Hoping that sharkey and others voice their opinions.

New ep of the podcast welcomes STAC coach Matt Capell and Greeley Tribune sportswriter Anne Delaney to share thoughts on Biggie Patterson and Dejour Reaves!
Love what I heard on Biggie. Think he is going to be a “big” part of this team. Pretty sure he will start at either 3 or 4.
Favorite thing I heard is how he attended every stac sporting event. From the outside this seemed like something missing from last years team. It did not seem many students in the crowd had any special rooting interests for individuals on last years team. Think someone like Biggie can get the students more involved in our season and games.
Inspired by the latest podcast and being told that the team is already working out at the HAC, I'm giving my much too early assessment of the players. Giving my top three for a number of categories. And, yes I know it's early and these are only guesses. To begin" 1. PPG-Safe pick (Reaves) Long Shot (Patterson) Longer Shot (Winborne) 2. Rebounds Per Game-Safe Pick (Rupert) Long Shot (Moundi) Longer Shot (Hogarth) 3. Assists Per Game-Safe (Njie) Long (Winborne) Longer (Menard) 4. Steals Per Game-Safe (Barr) Long (Reaves) Longer (Njie) 5. 3Pt%-Safe (Jungers) Long (Reaves) Longer (Wallace) 6. Total 3Pt's- Safe (Reaves) Long (Winborne) Longer (Patterson) 7. FT%-Safe (Reaves) Long (Njie) Longer (Winborne) 8. FG%-Safe (Moundi) Long (Emuobor) Longer (Patterson) 9. Blocks Per Game-Safe (Moundi) Long (Hogarth) Longer (Patterson) 10.MPG-Safe (Reaves) Long (Patterson) Longer (Njie)
And, I'll close by listing the top five Gaels that I'm looking forward to seeing on the court: In no particular order-Njie, Menard, Wallace, Hogarth and Chan.
P.S. Hopefully, everyone will list their take even if it is only for a couple of categories.
