If I was any of these guys I wouldn't trust him, he will recruit over them in a second. Now that may be hard with Clayton, but I guarentee right now he thinks he can get someone better, if not this year than next! |

No reflection on Anderson at all, who I really like so far, but I would have urged them to stick together for each other, not whoever the next coach would be. |

In my opinion and with not an ounce of inside information, I think Iona made the decision to move on with fervor equal to that Pitino. I think it was a mutual decision, but let's be big boys about it. That was decided last summer, and I think it has been executed without, from Iona's perspective, blood on the carpet. I think Iona would have a very disgruntled coach on its hands had St. John's not come to the table. In fact, I think they already had disgruntlement; "one bid league", "Iona has no money" etc. I once had a prima donna on my staff - she was very talented. She was not shy about coming into my office to brag about her great resume and her numerous job offers. "XXX, the next time you get an offer, my advice to you is to take it." The prima donna is now St. John's problem. How well did they do with Chris Mullen, with Steve Lavin, with Mike Anderson? Good luck! |
