Who said he's breaking the rules? During the dead period staffs are allowed to be in contact with recruits via phone, text, social media or any other way. They can't meet in person whether a home visit or campus visit or go watch the kid practice or play in a game. because he is on a team He's committed, technically not on their roster. BTW, You would be very surprised how many staffs "follow" committed kids and even kids on other teams who aren't in the portal on Twitter. Technically that's making contact |

I can see it now at the presser:
Pitino: "It is not the $8 million or the fact they promised that my son will take over at Kentucky when I am done. The reasons I even considered this job is that it is tough to navigate a 3 bid league, our facilities are too far gone to repair in my lifetime, I mean the Garden needs to be knocked down and rebuilt. Also, the extra taxes in NYC reduce our competitiveness when recruiting using NIL deals, and my wife and I miss our daughter who'll only be 80 miles away from us. Don't get me wrong, St John's is a wonderful place and it will always mean a lot to me as it saved me from those asshole fans at Iona. I will miss the pizza at Amore's in Flushing, I will miss playing Winged Foot and I will miss the people from the press who kissed my ass for the last year, especially Zach, I will need to have his lips and tongue surgically removed from my culo."
