I was one of them, and based my opinion on his name and connection to UCONN. Had no idea if he could coach. Never so happy to be wrong. Of course, I also wanted an assistant coach as the replacement for Gene Roberti, and we ended up with a guy who was a HC, and I had never heard of him. In fairness to myself that was before the internet.  |
