Hope Iona can get better camera’s for their ESPN+ streams. They don’t do the building justice on “TV” I agree but not sure it is the cameras. It is where they are positioned in the building. They are too far away. That is my take anyway I always thought it was the lighting in the building. It was said that they turn down the lights on the crowd for an arena effect. I wish ESPN+ and ESPN 3 would mic the crowd. I think the few times we had ESPNU at Hynes, the crowd noise came through much louder, but the last time they did a game was back in 2022.

Maybe they’ll give us a game this year instead of giving us Siena on the road.

Yea, camera angles are tough and very arena dependent. Honestly ours isn't too bad. There are much worse. Dayton and Ohio State come to mind, though for NCAA tournament they actually remove some seats at Dayton arena to get better angles. To me, more important is the crowd noise. Need to mic the crowd properly. The ESPN+ and 3 broadcasts sound like an empty arena or like the announcers are working remotely. It's pretty easy and cheap to fix.

Are you related to Iona 1970? 1970 is another of my pen names. Like my alter ego. Thought you knew that.

All these Iona videos are showing Brice dunking and Farias doing good things. Starting to feel like these were great late adds.

Sharkey, thanks.

With this roster, what is your biggest concern? In two weeks we should be able to make a more informed opinion, but as of today this is mine. Last season Shema played PF, but this year it looks like he'll play center. So my concern is how we'll do when Oz is on the bench, fouls or rest. Looking at the roster, I'm guessing we'd go with a frosh, Sultan Adewale. And playing a frosh is often perilous. Any other opinions?
