I hope this is a guy we really wanted, rather than one that we could hire quickly and keep our current players. I think SPU ended up with a good coach (Mason), but by the time he was hired many of the players had left. Anderson, like Cluess, does have a history of success. He was a finalist 3 years ago, and he got the job now. We've wanted him for years. |

Good hire. Credit to Iona’s AD. They knew Pitino was gone probably for a while and zeroed in on a coach.
It would’ve taken D’Arg two weeks to get a coach.

It will tell us a lot, when we see which kids attend tomorrow's introductory press conference. That doesn't mean that any player who attends the PC will be staying, but, imo, it at least means that they have an open mind.

Whatever the players do, they do. I hope they give Anderson & Iona a chance but if they leave I wish them nothing but success no matter where they go. They’ve represented Iona very well as far as I can tell. I hope Iona treats them well in this situation. Seems like a great group of young men.
