Exhibition games are nice for the diehard fans, but honestly they don't do much to sell the team or draw interest. Pitino played an Exhibition, I believe vs Adelphi, and if I recall it was far from a large crowd. Better off playing a scrimmage, where the rules are loose, and can teach/coach more.

I think these past 2 years are exceptions re wanting to show anything to the opponent, because the entire roster has been different. If we retain, say, 6 guys for next year, I would agree, I59, that the secrecy is no longer a must and sure, let's play an exhibition.

Of course this year we could have played both.

I lucked out as I came across a big time exhibition game, last night. Kansas at Arkansas, with Arkansas winning, by 16 I believe. You can catch highlights on the ESPN site, and it was Calipari's first game as the Razorbacks coach. The player I was most impressed with was Boogie Fland, an Arkansas freshman. Adam Njie must have gone up against him on multiple occasions in HS, and if Adam is anywhere near the player that Boogie Fland is,(and I think he is) then we have a helluva player.
I assume everyone knows that Fland is a Stepinac grad while Adam went to Hayes.

Hey 59, let Let's keep these comments in the "secret Scrimmages" thread and not in the NIL thread. THANKS!

The link to register doesn’t work, even after I log into Gaels Nation.
