"A powerful 6-8 wing forward, Benjamin is an impressive physical presence with skill, a dangerous combination — especially when you add in the fact that he plays hard, all the time, and isn’t afraid to throw his body around. Benjamin is tough for almost any high school team to slow down, and he powered his way to a 11-point, six-rebound outing against SPIRE. He’s got a smooth jump shot not often seen in wings with his physicality, but he’s still an high-level finisher who dunks with ease and converts with both hands around the rim." - City of Basketball Love - Josh Verlin & Chad Graham 10/16/2022.
He really started to produce late into this past season and finished up with 26 points to upset Don Bosco 76-70 in the state semis.

This young man is a player!! Physical and can rebound and score. Staff also reached out to a Don Bosco player. Glad to see the staff is coming over to Bergen county! A big Iona presense here!!
Going forward, does anyone see recruiting the way I see it. And TA has already said that it is important to build a roster with freshmen and transfers. It just seems to me that the pool of HS kids available for recruiting has really grown, and I base that on two things: 1. The Portal with teams targeting transfers, thus leaving more HS kids available. 2. The worldwide explosion of basketball. Looking at the NBA, with two of their biggest stars, Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic, soon to be joined by #1 Draft pick, Victor Wembanyama, are big reasons for the interest in international players. And it seems that the recruiting pool will continue to increase in the coming years.
So, the players will be available, and I think the edge that Iona has is that TA will go after guys who fit his system. And, even if the "bigs" increase their interest in foreign players, that means that more home grown talent, HS and transfers, will be available. At least that's the way I see it.

SLG, actually just returned from a weekend in Easton,PA, attending my granddaughter's graduation. And I can't even remember the last time I stayed in a hotel/motel. First time I used a 'Tap It' key to get into my room. Rip Van Winkle seems like an apt description.

Rip Van Winkle just rolled out of bed 🛏️
You must have been with him. How else would you know? You used to be nice. How do wines age in St. Louis -- turn sour? 😢
