Once Fairfield gets a new AD, a good HC, and some good players I’m sure the atmosphere will improve. You look at their message board they are focused on moving to the CAA; they want to lose games to schools with better academic ratings than are found in the MAAC. A lot of Fordham like insecurity there; must be a Jesuit thing. Sure if they win more the atmosphere or at least the crowd size would improve. They can go to the CAA as far as I’m concerned. God bless them. One issue they face is the same issue Quinny faces. Unless you’re an alum of the school, if you’re a college hoops fan in Connecticut you root for UCONN. And if you're a college hoops fan in NY you root for St. John's.

So the question is whether there will be a good return on investment for Fairfield having spent the millions to build their facility.

I don’t know, I think I tell it like it is. Many posters are afraid to do that here. This team has issues but at the same time may have more potential than any other maac team. What guts does it take to anonymously “tell it like it is” and to what end since most of us don’t even know what we’re talking about? It doesn’t take guts, but many are too close to the program to say anything that may give away info or be negative. I’m not too close to the program.

Fairfield facilities are really awesome. CAA would be a great spot for them. Patriot League as well. Facilities matter!!!!

Wow lots of thoughts reference last nights game! No criticism let’s think positive my friends. Each game I see individual improvements from our players! Coaches have a system which takes time for players to become comfortable in! Ball movement on perimeter is good just need to be more aware of shot clock. Once down to last 8-10 think basket Post game could develop with Suldan. Actually a couple of post entry passes! Yes we missed second chances but we caused these second chances! Sultan three consecutive offense rebounds. He battles as well as GG. Yes Q started and might have been a bit nervous but did penetrate and dish. Very quick!! T came off the bench and contributed right away! Joel Brown also made some key baskets and does a good job on perimeter defense Jean A and Dylan are cutting their teeth big time! Lots of individual improvement which will enhance TEAM chemistry My forum friends I am not an expert of the game and am still learning however I do know two things 1 when a team presses like we do and runs the offense we run many times turnouts occur 2 instead of being negative always start with a positive! Not even a criticism however we do create turnovers we need to score off these turnovers! Regards to all See you Wednesday

Hynes Center has the best atmosphere in the MAAC. When it’s full it’s an impossible place to play for opposing teams. We need to do a better job showcasing it on our stream as our cameras and audio are from 2006, but ESPNU will do it justice when Manhattan comes to town Good atmosphere but .... Has Iona considered building a facility more on par with Div 1 peers at Concordia campus?

Will be a game changer.

If they can find a way to further renovate to make concessions and bathroom better then that should be enough. Have to sell out your building for them to consider another major renovation

Good atmosphere but .... Has Iona considered building a facility more on par with Div 1 peers at Concordia campus? For what, we don't sell out "Selling out" is only a small factor in the overall economics of why you would build a facility.

Had a conversation leaving the arena with one of the former Stags players that were honored last night.
He mentioned the arena cost 53M, while Leo Mahoney family donated 26M of that. He said that arena didn't cost Fairfield a dime, don't recall where the other 27M came from.
So if a few want to cut a check... Will leave out the part of never being allowed/or able to build such an area where the HAC currently is located.
Honestly, rather have that money donated towards Iona and NIL collective.
Banners over well..everything

You'll find another "Mahoney" who wants to pony up to get his name on something. Just my experience. Before there was LaPenta there was Hynes and before him ......
