Had a conversation leaving the arena with one of the former Stags players that were honored last night. He mentioned the arena cost 53M, while Leo Mahoney family donated 26M of that. He said that arena didn't cost Fairfield a dime, don't recall where the other 27M came from. So if a few want to cut a check... Will leave out the part of never being allowed/or able to build such an area where the HAC currently is located. Honestly, rather have that money donated towards Iona and NIL collective. Banners over well..everything The $26 million donation could always have been used for something else. If you never fill the place whether your in the MAAC or the CAA is it a good investment?

While I don't think "filling the place" is the real question I do believe that Iona would not be all that successful as a program moving out of the Maac. There just seems to be some special sauce there. So for Fairfield the new arena might have benefits but for Iona not so much because of the loss of Maac "magic". Would Iona get "as many" banners in the CAA? (No) Can FF get "one banner" in the CAA? Yes

For what purpose? We don't regularly sell out Hynes, we JUST did a major renovation, and we win anyway. Add on a 1 story structure on the side closest to the parking garage with bathrooms, food and beer/wine. Will be a game changer. City would never allow for it.

If you look at Hofstra Arena they just took it one step further. Yes a bit more construction and less of a bandaid but NIL worthy.

For what, we don't sell out "Selling out" is only a small factor in the overall economics of why you would build a facility. Please tell us the rest. Or is this more "humor"?

Carey is building a better relationship with the city. Nyre started that process. The city will never allow a larger arena on campus, but a smaller accessory structure might eventually get permission.

Two questions: 1. Is Bates injured? Hasn't played in the past two games. 2. Does FF have a Pep Band? Didn't notice it on TV. Were there any pretzels? Matter of fact, yes. Also popcorn and I think I saw someone with a Ho Ho.

Sure if they win more the atmosphere or at least the crowd size would improve. They can go to the CAA as far as I’m concerned. God bless them. One issue they face is the same issue Quinny faces. Unless you’re an alum of the school, if you’re a college hoops fan in Connecticut you root for UCONN. And if you're a college hoops fan in NY you root for St. John's. OK, you got me. I'm from New Jersey. Rather be dead than Red. Is there a difference.

Just remembered this after listening to a replay of the game. You know you're getting old, when you hear that a guy who you watched playing college BB for Fairfield now has something like five grandchildren. Believe I saw him play in HS for Tolentine, but I'm not sure. Talking about Joe DeSantis.
