The question was about talent. How the lack of “Iona standard players” is leading to this monstrosity we are seeing on the floor. Continuity of course matters. I don’t need to be condescended. Before the season and as of the Charleston opener, I would have agreed with you. But after 15 games how can you possibly feel we are as talented as any other team in the conference? It is pretty obvious that we are inferior to most of the MAAC teams from a talent standpoint. Find me one player we have who is in the same stratosphere as the Henderson or Bayless kid from Niagara? Because it’s lack of chemistry and cohesion not talent

We are not using Shema to greatest effect either. He’s an excellent passer. Run some high post offense with him. Would require players to cut toward the hoop without the ball so maybe have mostly freshman in the game for this. Correct put him at the Ft line and pop or hit a cutter, sooner or later a coach has to adjust to his talent

How do you lose a important home game while forcing 21 turnovers including 17 steals? Shooting 6-14 from the line and losing on the boards 41-24. Team just isn't very good. I'm all in on Tobin, BUT he has to realize he needs more size, especially when the team can't make free throws. Can't lose the battle on the boards and FT line every game and expect to win. Panzo and Shema 4pts on 0-6 from three Next 3 games...MSM, Canisius and @qpac. not good You didn't like tretout playing C for 10 minutes? Huh? He was playing the "5"? Didn't even notice...lol The final ugly last 12 seconds. Not sure what Brown was thinking, lining up in front of Bayless and not on his side or behind. Gave him the entire open court and Aranguren Didn't come up quick enough to keep Bayless further from the basket. Tough make by Bayless, but could have been defended much better

Need to understand Tobin is only in his second year of D1. Cluess did not have all the answers right away, he got better as he was here (and recruiting was evolving). His system works, but he has to adjust it here, much the way Tim's system changed over time. And he'll tweak how he recruits, too, the way Tim did.

I still remember how awful the defense was the first couple of years under Cluess.

Even in the Tre year we had Crawford.

SPU and Fairfield both returned a lot of guys. We didn't. If you don't think it matters, you don't know the game. The question was about talent. Hearing lots of criticism of the coaching. How about the players are just not up to Iona standards? I thought our press was very effective for the most part and we had plenty of open looks. When you shoot 6-14 from the foul line, we just can’t expect to win many games. I think it's both. But Tobin is doing the best he can and he's going to be better with better players and vice versa. Some of the guys just aren't meant for his system. Def needs some more speed.

Right. Even that team's talent level was much higher than this team's.
