I'm of the opinion that TA did the best job he could have done replacing 12 players in a short period of time. Either they were going to gel into a cohesive unit or not. There are some signs that they have and some signs that they have not.I'm not going to judge his abilities as a coach (who has a long record of being a winner) on being in the untenable position he found himself in when he took over as head coach. There are a lot of teams who would want him and a lot of teams who wish they had Iona's history. We will be back on top. In the meantime, I'll continue to watch and cheer these guys on. Go Gaels!!! Tobin and staff will be fine. They work their asses off. Impossible job putting a roster together. Normal recruiting cycle, possible transfer recruits visits campus, and works out with the team. Tobin didn't have that luxury. Kids visited, but there wasn't a team to practice with, lol. My only hope is that Tobin realizes he needs to recruit more size. Already has with Hogarth, but need more than him and Adewale next season

Huh? He was playing the "5"? Didn't even notice...lol The final ugly last 12 seconds. Not sure what Brown was thinking, lining up in front of Bayless and not on his side or behind. Gave him the entire open court and Aranguren Didn't come up quick enough to keep Bayless further from the basket. Tough make by Bayless, but could have been defended much better Did Bayless not walk? He did not dribble. Actually Kevin Hamilton mentioned on the broadcast that it looked like he walked. Just not getting that call, and honestly game shouldn't have come down to that last play. Don't know if it was because of the Valvano ceremony, but Kevin had his game face today. Few comments on the idiot big Goon Niagara. Also after the kid dunked on Shema he said you know you get 5 fouls per game and there was no chance that should happen again...lol

Completely agree with Iona Guy-Sharkey and 73. We will be fine. TA and staff will set the stage to put together their own legacy. Today I did see a willingness to win-passion and energy again from total program TA assistants and team. Unfortunately another close lost with a lot of league left. Lets be that team that no one wants to play in the tournament. I believe this!! Never dwell on yesterday-remember it and move on to tomorrow. Learn from today Yes of course Coach Al Positive vibes!!!

Give credit where credit is due. The last two three's made by Niagara were CLUTCH. Great shots made on the road were just great shots. Painful to me to watch, but have to recognize such great plays.

I've seen a lot of people comment on the poor free throw shooting. Not sure why anyone is surprised. If you looked at a lot of these players free throw percentages at previous stops they were never very high, specifically Joel Brown and Greg Gordon. Did we just think they were miraculously going to become good free throw shooters when they joined the team?

Sub 50% team free throw shooting in two of the last three games isn't "poor" it's embarrassing! My 8 year old niece shoots a higher percentage. How a coordinated grown man, who has a basketball in his hands every day of his life, can't do better is beyond me... The occasional buzzer beater or bad call will always happen but largely (this year for Iona) this would be a non-issue with acceptable stats from the charity stripe.

Official attendance was listed at 2001. I was there, they must have counted everybody twice, lots of empty seats. Bad weather contributed no doubt.

Brown is a career 49.8% shooter from the line and Gordon shot 42.8% in his two years at Dyersburg State. These are two key pieces of the roster. They were never/never going to be good free throw shooters.
