You forgot Brice. So you think the entire freshman class will hit the portal. Based on what? Brice can only transfer down based on his usage. So my guess is he stays. JQ is talented enough to transfer up as is Adewale IMHO. I think the other guys jump ship and bounce around as well Saunders was not given a fair shake. Losings no fun. Being on a team dominated by relentlessly playing ineffective graduate transfers is not fun and my guess is a lot if not all of them move on. I think you are just wildly speculating because you’re upset at how the season turned out. But hey, it’s a message board and any opinion can be posted.

Can we put Bates back in please. Panzo and Tretout are lost. Not sure, but Bates must have been caught dozing during TA's halftime speech. As a fan I feel bad for all the frosh, plus Brice, for how they were treated through the entire season. While I hope they all return, I can understand if they won't. And, then we'll blame it on the NIL. How the “frosh were treated all season”? That’s a pretty sweeping generalization. You forget how much playing time Quigley and Aranguren got? How many starts Sultan got? Wow.

The product didn’t meet expectations. Maybe mine are too high. Obviously with what has happened last season and last few years, it’s understandable how it has impacted this season. I also can’t judge a coach on one year. Thought he did well with what he was given/had to work with. On to next season Go Gaels

We are in a full free agency. What if anything this year would inspire any of them to stay. JQ can go make $$$$ if he wants. The other guys either have to really love the staff and school or maybe the high student turn out. I dont see why they wouldnt at least put their name in the hat. You can always go back if you wish.

From the beginning of the season I have said that I had no expectations for this team. Given the fact that we started with a new coach and only one player, Os Shema, I thought we may not win at all. Then. when GG quit on the team, these guys could have just mailed it in. They did not.
I've stayed away from the board for a while because (even at the age of 72) I have been very busy practicing law and being in court. Since I argue with people most of the day I did not want to argue with what I thought was a lot of negativity on the board. Clearly, many of us have been spoiled by the tremendous success that Iona Men's Basketball has enjoyed over the years. Things didn't work out for us this season - it happens to the best of teams.
I was proud of the effort tonight against FF. I was hoping that we could pull out a win, but it wasn't to be. I wish all who are graduating the best. Oz will always be a special Iona Gael in my mind. I hope that a number of players return next season. I feel confident that TA will get Iona back on a winning track. Win or lose I will be (as most of you will be) Iona University die=hard fans.
Go Gaels!!!

Tobin plays anyone else, but Idan and we win that game. How many times did he have to watch Idan turn it over or take a horrible shot and say to himself “hey he might not have it tonight” I agree. Bates made some huge shots and he didn't sniff a minute after the under 8. Sorry you don't owe Tretout a thing. He had that nice and 1 but missed the clutch FT. Only 3 he made was a lucky bank in but kept launching away from NBA range. I agree about Bates because at the very least he would have to be respected for his outside shot and it probably would of opened up easier drives for Quigley and Brown.

I highly doubt JQ and Arenguren are going anywhere, definitely not "up". They followed Tobin to FDU and Iona.
JQ is talented but size is not on his side and is perfect for this conf. I think he can be a Marquis Wright type player by end of his career.
Arenguren (who I really like don't get me wrong here) got worse as the year went on and couldn't buy a basket when they needed him to step up. Don't see him moving up at all.

The product didn’t meet expectations. Maybe mine are too high. Obviously with what has happened last season and last few years, it’s understandable how it has impacted this season. I also can’t judge a coach on one year. Thought he did well with what he was given/had to work with. On to next season Go Gaels How much expectation can you have when you have only one returning player. An almost .500 season had to be a totally good surprise.

After tonight if Im Bates I am gone. Kids on fire and is not playing to allow Tretout to destroy the lead late in the game with NBA range three point bricks, turnovers, and sloppy plays.

In terms of building a program I suspect that Gordon leaving will prove to be addition by subtraction.

You forget how much playing time Quigley and Aranguren got? How many starts Sultan got? Wow. I'll give you Quigley, as he was our POY. JA was playing really well, but then saw his PT diminish, along with his confidence. Adewale got some starts, but only (for the most part) after Gordon left. We were told that defense was keeping Bates and Saunders tied to the bench, and also how they practiced. Brice was supposedly injured, so no PT for him. Over the years I've always heard that if you play well, you'll play. And then they see Tretout and Panzo perform, and on occasion they performed well, but even if they played like they did tonight, they still played. So that's why I think it fair to say, I don't think they got close to a fair shake. And you're certainly entitled to have a different opinion.
