Guy, I'll be very surprised if there are many more than Board members. It's a tough time of year when you consider: *Vacations *Getting kids ready for the return to school/HS and College. *Most fans (non die-hard) might not even be aware of it, as there wasn't a lot of advance notice. And while I fall into the die hard category, I don't check my e-mails every day. *And I disagree with your take about intra squad games, since we haven't any of the team in action. Was considering signing autographs, charging for them and turning the money over to our NIL. But someone told me that other than 1970 the demand might not be that great. So, not sure if I'll sign or not. Bottom line, BB related we all will want to know, who impressed. Everyone who follows Iona on social media is aware. All ticket holders are aware. All on any Iona email list are aware. Yup, I get the family/vacation/work obligations and only a week's notice, but if we don't get a decent turnout it's still not a good sign. Re intrasquad, I mean that whatever you see is still a miniscule sample size and won't inform what the season will look like. They/a player could look amazing or they/a player could look awful, and it doesn't matter either way. Would still rather see them in action than not, though! |

Very excited to catch a first glimpse of the team. I might be one of the only young alum going but I hope more do when I spread the word.

I’ll be there but it’s the only day of the week I get out of work so early, so I agree 6 is too early. I think all we will have is 20 guys. I remember the shocked look Pitino gave when no more than 20 people showed up for a summer event in 2020. We simply don’t have enough fans who truly care. Hope I’m wrong but I doubt it. Will be fun to see the team though.

Wow, even when I don't post, I get 'shot' at. But, since you mentioned the August 6th event, maybe we could give an opinion of what we are interested in 'seeing'. This would be even more of interest to those who won't be able to make it. Honestly? I'm interested in seeing how many fans show up. Will be very telling IMO. It's a damn free event. Otherwise, I think we've all seen how little intrasquad scrimmages mean in the grand scheme of things, so I don't have a specific basketball-related thing I'm looking for per se. 250 people is my guess |

Let's just say those of you expecting like 20 people to show up are way off. Good to hear! That Sunday morning lunch 4 years ago to see Pitino didn’t attract anyone, that’s why I was skeptical. They seem like they are doing a better job of promoting this, though wasn’t much lead time. |
