Didn't Mindaugus Timinskas win a silver or bronze with the Lithuania basketball team? Good point, I think you are right. Bronze in Olympics, Silver in Euros.

SID didn't think that Timinskas was on the Olympic team. Didn't seem sure, though.

Saw on Instagram, today, pictures of the Iona Women's team, at their first practice. Have they just started practicing, or was it a misprint?

Women have open scrimmage on Saturday, Oct 5 at 12. Hope to be there. And while it's not the Women, but the Men are having an Open Practice for the Students this Thursday night, October 3rd. Or at least I think they are. Do we have any student Board members? If so, hope they'll file a report.

Attended yesterday's intra squad scrimmage, and I'll describe it as fan friendly. Coach Ang went out of her way to show off her team. Four quarters of play and then had all the players introduce themselves after the game. Got to sit with Guy and benefited from his knowledge of the team. I didn't have a program so I missed on knowing which player made "that play". My sketchy view was that: * Judith Gomez will start and is probably our best player. Though that opinion is far from certain. * Both Guy and I were impressed with the play of Maya Zaccagnini. Last year she backed up Ella Fajardo, and might start the year in that role, but

Computer glitch, so I'll just continue from above.
......Guy thinks she and Ella can play together. * Zoey Ward was the starting center on one team, but Guy was also impressed with the other center, who I believe was Destinee Salgado, a 6-1 freshman. * Two other players caught my eye, one in a good way. Erin Leary, a Sr transfer from STAC, that I wish we'd have her for more than a year. I was disappointed that Ally Carman is still injured and though in uniform didn't play. We could certainly use a player of her size (6'5) and I have no idea when she'll be ready to play. * That's about it as I was hampered w/o a program.
P.S. My wish is that TA would 'roll out' his team in a similar format.
P.P.S. Last century Iona was fortunate to have Peter Maneri. But this century we have Guy Falotico, and thanks to Social Media, we are even more fortunate. I can't thank him enough for all the time and money he gives to our school.
