A couple things I want to say. Just my opinion as well.
This is an open space to comment on Iona basketball.
We should respect the Guy (pun intended) running it as he puts so much of his time into this program.
Having said that, there's a lot of good points both ways about how the new regime is running things so far.
Good or Bad let's let the ideas and comments flow and not put people down for their thoughts. Most everyone is emotional after a loss, so let's keep it in perspective.

Onto the next, hoping for improvement!
While I agree, we can't have people saying "Tobin Anderson sucks" (in Delaware thread) or posting information that just isn't true to suit their own agendas ("WVU is a bad team"). Be respectful and show intelligence. As the moderator, I have the right to call you out if you don't do these things. And as an ambassador of Iona University, I have zero interest in allowing every thread to dissolve into a nasty, negative pile of garbage. I mentioned this a little ways back, when we win, there are like 3 posts from 3 people but when we lose we have 10 pages of people who never post and when they do it's almost always an attack on the staff or the university. This is a public forum seen by Iona admin and perhaps more importantly Iona recruits, so I'm going to do my part to promote Iona University and its basketball program in the most positive light possible, because at the end of the day, for us posters, it's just college basketball and I don't see a point in pissing and moaning about it all.

Have to defend myself here. I said West Virginia is a Bad big 12 team, not bad team. That means that they are about a 75-100 Ken pom team. Which means if we are at all decent we should lose by 15-20 to them on the road, not by 40+.

Lost by 40+ because we emptied the bench in the first half and were without 2 starters--3 if you count sitting Rupert after 7 minutes.

I know I86 will post his wonderful detailed Cornell roster preview, so I'll leave that to him and take a look at Cornell via KenPom.
KP has Cornell favored by 1 in this one--thought it would be a bit higher. Big Red is 3-1, with a non D1 win, a win at home over a good Samford team, a 16-point loss at a decent LaSalle team, and a 10-point win over a not-so-good Lafayette. They're interesting offensively, they haven't shot 3s well at all but are pretty good from 2. They do turn it over a lot, so let's press em. They do get to the line a decent amount but they don't shoot it too well from there. On D, really nothing special, so hopefully we can find a path to success on that end. Here's an odd one for Ivy team--38th in tempo. So this game will be faster than what we've been seeing.
All in all I feel good about it.

Pretty sure most of the guys pissing on Tobin (most not all) here or on X are pretty young. All they probably know from Iona are the Cluess years and on.
I equivalate this to people my age who grew up watching baseball in the mid 90s when the Yankees were just always the best by far, and a decade later when they stopped being the best, they couldn't handle it and were quick to blame everything and anything.
I'm not gonna sugar coat it, I don't think this team is that good. Hope I am wrong. Even last year's squad had a nice little run for a bit, so there's always a chance to right the ship.
I just think people have the right to complain even if some don't like it.
When I complained a couple of times about the ongoing Pitino thread, I was told to ignore it or don't read it if I didn't like it. Well, that's exactly what I did.
As per the Iona admins, players, recruits that read this. If I were them, I'd overlook the type of comments and more over appreciate the fact that this school does have a board of passionate fans. Just look at the number of posts many of us have had over the past 12 years or more. It's actually pretty crazy!
I get emotional myself after games, and sometimes I do regret some of my comments during or after games, but guess what. It's passion at its best. I'd rather that than nobody caring.
In pro wrestling they say the worst reaction is no reaction! So to Guys point, when these guys play well / win, let's give them their flowers a bit better too.
