This team is playing at a whole different level right now. When they need a basket they get it, when they need a stop they get a stop. They do what they want with confidence and without struggle. Everyone contributes and every player is playing his butt off.
Kyle is tough as nails and when he went down hurt you knew it might be serious. I hope it's nothing more than a little rest will cure because he brings so much to this team in terms of his high basketball IQ and scoring.
Hopefully, the Iona students will come out in full force so we can punch our dance tickets tomorrow night!

Just got back from Bridgeport. Kyle did come back on bench after time in dressing room - he did not have shoulder still iced. He didn't show any outward signs of injury; however, he also was not extending his left arm in any way. As to the students, there was one student bus at the game. I suspect that the quick turn around in making arrangements may have accounted for less student involvement. We did have a good number of fans, family members and alum in section 114. In past years, when we have made the finals the school has had 3 and 4 buses for the Monday night trips to Albany - I would hope for a similar show tomorrow - if not more. Price is not an issue. The school picks up the tab for transportation. Students just have to pay the $8.00 price of student tickets. To any students who may read this board - GET YOUR A--ES INTO THE BUS AND ROOT ON YOUR GAELS MONDAY NIGHT IN BRIDGEPORT! THESE GUYS ARE PLAYING THEIR HEARTS OUT - THEY NEED TO SEE AND HEAR ALL OF YOU! GO GAELS! Re the students--word is Iona's picking up the tag for their tickets (not sure re bus). Expect a good 3-4 buses.

Spoke with Kyle at the hotel after the game--and he's fine.
The team was totally calm and confident. They are very focused.

Morning papers had us as -5......Opening Vegas line now has us as-7 Probably go a bit higher....
Pomeroy now has us breaking into the 50 mark...Now at 57..........
Fairfield was ripe and ready to pick by the Peacocks...They had come off a terrible game which probably cost them their competitive edge...They could not handle the the tremendous pressure of being the favorite and the thought of losing in front of all those kids..They went into a almost comatose posture...There appears no other explanation...St. Pete's not the type team to get a 24 point lead on anybody.
We beat St. Petes by 18 and in their place by a let up 14......One more time....See you all at the game.........
Go Gaels!!!!

Last night Guy and I had a conversation in this thread about student tickets and buses for tonight's game. Mr. Nostradamus was again correct - Iona is picking up the entire tab (tickets and transportation) for any students attending. I have also discovered that many classes are cancelled - professors had told students that they would not have class if Gaels made Monday's finals. Students - YOU HAVE NO EXCUSES - WE NEED YOU IN FORCE IN BRIDGEPORT TONIGHT! ! !

I, on the other hand, will have to settle for ESPN and a libation or two. Hope the Gaels are ready for business. We have a worthy opponent.

By comparison, we had 2 on Saturday and it didn't appear we had any yesterday.

Guy - there was one student bus last night; however, it was not completely full. That's awful. How do we get fewer people deeper into the tourney? Fairfield alums should be asking the same thing re their students' showing yesterday. Students getting it done tonight, though. I hear SPC is doing OK as well; obviously they have a bit further to go.

I was told that students just need to show their ID's and they'll be admitted.
