I'm also curious why we haven't gone after a point guard to replace Scott. This is the year you would bring in a qualified PG to learn from Scott and be ready to take over when he graduates. Tough to rely on a freshman PG to step right in and be productive unless we're going the JUCO route again next year. I'm sure the staff has a plan, I just wonder what it is.

Theoretically, we could end up with a much better PG next year BECAUSE Scott, Trinity and JJ will be gone.
Also, can Rashad James play some point?

we still might pick up a transfer pg who would sit out and then play next year. I know we have no more ships but..

Cjb, I don't understand your post about ending up with a much better PG next year. Could you explain? Thanks.

ic59, I was wondering the same thing. My only thought is that he means that a top PG prospect may want to play for 4 years - with our depth this season (particularly with Scott who will be considered one of the best PGs in the East, if not the nation next year) such a prospect would look elsewhere. If my assumption of CJB's thinking is correct, he assumes that it would be much more likely that such a quality PG would become a Gael in 2012 rather than 2011.

Mr. D, thanks. Cjb, what say you?

Pretty sure that's what CJB meant.

For the record, I'm not in love with the idea of bringing in JUCOs on top of JUCOs on top of JUCOs.
And no, Glover's not going anywhere. Neither is Smyth, which I think I read here or on the MAAC board.

Thanks, Doomy. That's exactly what I meant... we'll be a lot more attractive to a stud PG if we could offer immediate playing time

Jayon James is transferring out, per The Recruit Scoop (and James' twitter, which RTed Recruit Scoop's tweet about it).

Jayon James is transferring out, per The Recruit Scoop (and James' twitter, which RTed Recruit Scoop's tweet about it). He didn't seem like a fit but extremely hard to tell because of his injury. On several occassions he subbed for Glover. I'm sure he is talented an will be successful where he lands.

I am not suprised he is transferring. He didn't look happy the end of the year. Unless he is transferring to D-II he has to sit out another year, he pretty much sat out all of this year. He must really have been unhappy.
