Multiple sources telling me that Chris Pelcher is leaving. Working on confirmation. If anyone spots a link, please share it.

I had heard that as well but i assumed that it was just talk since there was no other mention of it. Now if it is true we must be loooking at a big who is a transfer and maybe one who is not since we would have 2 ships to give.

Dissapointing. I really had allot of hope for him. Unfortunately when I saw him in the post season this year still making some of the same mistakes he made as a Freshman I had a feeling something might have been up. Still think he can help some team. If it's true I wish him nothing but the best.

I had heard that from an extremely reliable source last weekend. It does not surprise me at all. I spent some time with Chris' parents during the Santa Clara game. It became quite apparent that they were not the best fans of TC. I hope any decision was Chris' and was made in his own best interest. In my opinion, he would be far better off moving to D2 and not sitting out a year rather than going to a D1 where he would be an observer for a year which would give his skills time to erode.

If confirmed sorry to lose a big. There aren't many waiting in the wings. Seems like we do have athletic 4's arriving meaning less minutes for Chris. Would have expected Pelch to improve this season and have his best year as a senior a la Mike Ice. New style of offense we use probably isn't for him. Not sure how we will match up against national competition without someone who can body up for valuable minutes against others 6'10" or bigger. A concern for out of conference games. Let's hope we can replace. Good luck Pelch! I would guess UAlbany is a possibility.

Real sorry to hear this. Sounds like a number of you guys would disagree, but I still believe there's a good amount of potential to untap and Pelch's best is still to come. Big hole in the 5 spot now, should be interesting to see what this coaching staff can produce as a better alternative. My best wishes to Chris academically and athletically.

While I'm no "authority" , I can't remember more than one game where Pelch came in and changed the day. I can point to several for Dezouvre. Would any here care if Randy stayed or went? I think it unlikely that a player who's not had an "impact game" in 2 years would have one in the remaining 2. I'm confident someone coming in could at least give what we may be losing.
All Pelch had to do was come in and be a monster on the boards. He has the size for it.

I'm in the group that feels Pelch has a lot of potential and I'm sorry to see him leave. Randy's staying and I'm very glad about that.

I think Pelch was contributing in the latter part of the season. Yeah, he had some lapses (e.g. Santa Clara), but he was on his way. His departure hurts this team.

What about Orlando Sanchez from Monroe? Kid can block shots, rebound and is developing a good offensive game. He is big and strong and will help off the boards.

Pelch leaving has hit the news in the Albany area. He is looking to go to St. Francis or Central Connecticut ....seems that the coaching staff has not granted his release yet and that appears to be a major issue. www.videowired.com/video/2226087982/

Makes no sense not to grant a kid his release if he doesn't want to be there anymore.
