Nearly 23? Maybe he'll be another Ubiles? Ubiles was done playing at 23. Does this clown, Slouper, ever set them up on a tee!! He's in trouble once he goes beyond three words.

Ubiles was done playing at 23. This kid was class of 2007, so most likely he's 20 or 21; unless you know his D.O.B Mr. Campbell? Class of 2007 was post grad in Canada.

This new kid sounds like Donnell Mitchell.
What I like is he seems like a type of player Iona doesn't currently have on the roster-a long wing. Same with Serb, sounds like another interesting unique player-a tall 3 point shooter who also can defend bigs. I like these 2 pick ups as they seem to "fit". If they do fill last scholarship Gaels need a big who can rebound and score, maybe James is that guy.
Best thing about Cluess replacing Willard is he is allowing Gaels to tweak the roster so they have a little of everything. I love that he realizes Gaels needed scorers. I think Willards roster would have had trouble beating good offensive teams consistently, simply because they couldn't score enough. Getting someone like Armand will help the scoring and also help others on the team get freed up to score more, such as Smythe.
I like what is developing.

Joebird, I'd consider McGill this, no?
Still think our biggest need is a low-post scorer.

Yes CJB sounds somewhat similar to McGill, but also sounds more like a wing to me. I like McGill type players. The 98 team had a bunch of them. I like the comment that he has a motor that never stops.
To be honest you never know until you see these kids with your own eyes. We are always hopeful with these recruits, but only a few turn out better than advertised. No one ever says this kid is here to be a role player for 4 years and will be lucky to see minutes year one. Hopefully in these 2 we are getting late recruits that are better than advertised. Sort of like Jenkins.

He was 20 on November 7, 2007? Nice. He'll be able to rent a car soon without putting down a big deposit.

From what I can tell from his stats at Monroe, Randy sounds suited to playing the "4" in a four-guard system. He's a strong rebounder and very accurate close to the basket. He is not a three-point shooter, taking less than one a game on average at Monroe last year. But he gets his assists -- almost three a game -- and is a 70% free-throw shooter. He averaged about two turnovers a game last year. If we had to lose Keon, I'd say Randy is a good replacement for the roster spot. As far as Soup is concerned, forget what he says. He's been beaned too many times to make any sense.

ichoops, you said that Randy was very athletic and played above the rim. What are you basing that on?

Like I said, this kid, age wise, might turn out to be another Ubilies. Only difference, he'll go to class, as I believe Soup said Ubilies was 23 when he stopped going to class. Surprised he would admit it.

I don't care what his age is. It looks like a good signing. Strong muti-position player. Go get that banger now.

In case any have missed it.......MACC may have the tallest player in the country this year..... Canisius signed 7 foot three Marial Dahl. He is a Jr. College player with two years of eligibility,.He played about 15 minutes a game, and averaged less the 3 points a game ....He supposedly can alter and block shots....Sure hope so for Tom Parratta's sake......Looks like he might ave gave in to the fans who were clammering for height. Go Gaels!!!!!! Oldtimer: Saw a picture of him, was expecting to see a string bean, but suprisingly he has some meat on his bones. He originally signed with Houston but got out of his LOI when Penders was let go, I wouldn't be surprised if Penders pointed him in the direction of one of his old players.
