Anyone else think that this will the the "real" test to see where we're at as a team right now? First place game, on the road, hostile environment, coming off a win, etc.

By the way, anyone know the spread for tomorrow's game? My guess would be Iona is favored by 2/2.5 points...

First place game, on the road, hostile environment, coming off a win, etc. I think it'll be a test as to where our head is. I think we're better than Manhattan and a loss to them won't change my opinion on that. Right now Massiello has the team playing very well, with a lot of confidence. They are very well conditioned. They haven't had to deal with any pressure all year and have been motivated by being picked 8th in pre-season. They have some good players, but overall I think we're better and we've had to deal with a lot more pressure. Face it we had a 17 pt lead against them at home which should've resulted in a double-digit win, but their persistence coupled with us mis-managing that lead, and a prayer of a three pointer cost us the game. I expect to see a good effort by the guys. I expect the Manhattan crowd to be verbally abusive, as they frequently are. I expect us to handle that by just playing our game.

One thing to remember about this Manhattan team, unlike Fairfield and Iona, they've been playing with house money all season. No one expected them to do anything. No pressure at all. Would be interesting to see how they fare if they get sole possession of first place going into the MAAC tourney.

This will be the most meaningful game to date. Gaels really need to make a statement here. They are the better team, but it's the team that plays better that wins - a loss would be devastating. Gaels have to be the team that also plays better.

Given the talent and expectations of this team you simply cannot get swept in a season series. It Can't happen. CAN'T!

At Manhattan and at Loyola for first place. What a 2 game swing! I like it because I feel like we are either going to find out if this team is for real by winning both or this is just one of those huge disappointing years.
Sure all that really matters is the 3 games in Springfield, but I will feel a lot better about this team chances if they can win both of these.

I had the team with 5 losses at the end of the season, but certainly not the way they have done it so far. I thought they would win 2 in Puerto Rico. I projected that they would lose 2 on the long road trip, but thought those losses would come from among Marshall, Richmond, Denver & Vermont--not Hofstra. I thought they would lose 2 league games from among Fairfield, Loyola, Manhattan, or Siena--on the road--not Manhattan at home. Now they'll have to do it the hard way, facing MC & LU on the road. If they wind up with only 5 losses from this point, we'll be celebrating on Monday night at the MAAC.

I think we will know how this team will do down the final stretch based on these games.

We need Smythe or Armand to step up tonight. Glover will get his. If Momo isnt hitting, I hope hes smart enough to get it to open man, being Armand or Smythe. They need to hit the open shot
