I expect Manhattan to come out with a ton of energy. We need to just withstand that early burst and just keep our composure. I'd like to see a W tonight, but I'm more interested in seeing the coaches and the team just manage their composure for 40 minutes. Its very hard to win if you're afraid to lose. Just do the things that enabled you to win 18 games.

Gaels need to follow Giants Tom Coughlin's lead... prepare humbly and perform confidently.

Anyone else think that this will the the test to see where we're at as a team right now? First place game, on the road, hostile environment, coming off a win, etc. Totally agree. This will be the most meaningful game to date. Gaels really need to make a statement here. They are the better team, but it's the team that plays better that wins - a loss would be devastating. Gaels have to be the team that also plays better. CJB, don't agree that a loss will be devastating. Other than some local bragging rights and minor MAAC tourney seeding issues, this game really doesn't mean anything. One way or another we still have to win three in March. Any St. Peter's fans care that they lost to Iona twice in the reg. season last year?

Not according to Lunardi, who says this is a "lose and out" game for Iona, meaning that right now, he has us on his at-large list.

If this game doesn't matter then why even play the 30 regular season games? It matters for Maac seed, confidence, NCAA seed, NIT automatic fallback bid and for respect. This is as an important regular season game as there is. That being said of course I would rather beat them in Maac tourney then tonight but you can't say this game isn't important.

Woke up with the flu or something today and gave up my ticket for tonight, pissed as hell, but I hope the boys pull this out!

Its just not a "must win" I meant to say. I'm not saying we shouldn't show up to play.

It's a must win if we want to win the conference. Can't go 0-2 against the team you're tied with for 1st place especially with so few games left. Also if they win here and we meet in the tournament they'll have a ton of confidence and ours could be diminished. My opinion is this game is HUGE

I think that tonight's game is a very big game. While we can't do anything about the bad loss at home to the Jaspers, we need to make a statement that we are the team to beat tonight against a team that is tied with us. And while not looking ahead, the same is true about the game at Loyola next Friday (I'm looking forward to being there).
We need to go into both Manhattan's and Loyola's house and beat them. It's a good momentum builder for the three we need in March.
Go Gaels!!!
