I had Cablevision for many years and I had nothing but problems. Bandwidth would shrink as neighbors went on line; there were service outages. They blamed every problem on my internal wiring. I brought FIOS in and I've never had another problem. And I'm still using the same wiring. My internet speed has more than tripled. TVs are sharper and brighter than ever.
For the last two ESPN3 games, I used my kids' new laptop, which has an HDMI output and connected it with an HDMI cable to the flatscreen TV.
While, there were a few pauses, and a few brief moments where the picture got a little foggy, overall the picture quality was very good. For the record, I have FIOS, as well.
I've you've got a computer with an HDMI output, I highly recommend trying this. It might work with a smartphone with an HDMI output as well. I think I'll try that with my daughter's Atrix next time.
This is how I always watch, more enjoyable to watch on big screen but it does make it blurrier. I think your post also explains why I get such bad reception, cablevision sucks! Also thanks Greg Crow for your suggestions, I think my lap top being 3 years old doesn't help.
I knew Fairfield was moved to 9 but moving SPC to 5 is ridiculous, you think the 2 hours matter? Sitting around all day waiting for the game on a Sunday is just not fan friendly. Almost every game all year long wasn't scheduled with the fans in mind.
The way this year is going if we make the NCAA's I expect either a noon start on Thursday or a west coast game at like 10:15.

Was at the game. The intensity and crowd atmosphere were terrific. I believe the Gaels played their best game of the year under very tough conditions. Of course i could have done without the constant group cursing and chanting curses from the Manhattan student section. I'm glad i didn't have any small kids at the game. If this game were in new Rochelle and the same behavior by Iona students was taking place under Br. Liqori , I can picture him going to the scorer's table and letting the student section know this is fair warning stop it or we'll forfeit. It was pretty intense in that gym, I'm just glad cooler heads prevailed. A truly great win. Yes, it seemed very intense, on TV. I can only imagine what is was like in person. I thought the enthusiasm of the Jasper's crowd was great, but the profanity laced chants were unfortunate. I also thought chanting "Overated!" at Scott Machado, when his team was up 18, largely due to him picking their team's defense apart, was pretty lame. At the start of the game, fine. If he was struggling, even better. But when he's having a great game and his team is up big, it looks really dumb.

Also if your TV has VGA input you can use the VGA connectionfrom your computer (Obviously HDMI is the better connection, but many computers don't have HDMI outputs). Or you could just get a SONy google TV - works great and it's wireless.

Just watched the replay. Really good performance by the defense in the second half. When Iona defends, we're scary good.

Jasperfan here and I have to say I am genuinely excited after seeing the environment at Saturdays game, it was great! The cursing aside (its been a while since students have come out to games in force and with enthusiasm and perhaps they were a little too enthusiastic!)
I have to say Machado is hands down your best player, no one is close to him on the team, he is impressive and I think he will play in the NBA, as he has great poise and leadership abilities to go along with his court vision. Glover is good and Momo is pretty good as well but Machado is the real deal.
With that being said, every Iona player came to play on Saturday and you guys flat out hustled and outplayed the Jaspers, and you could see it in your players eyes, the Iona players wanted the game more!
Looking forward to an intense and renewed rivalry!

Was not there but watched it on my computer. I too had no issues with the look or delivery (FIOS).
Jasperfan, this game reminded of many of the classic IC-MC battles during the late 70's and eraly 80's. Loud & annimated crowds are a good thing for the game. Students are well, students. I have certainly seen better & worse language/chants at any number of the local rivalry games. In my opinion, MC-Fordham games were always the worst.
Masssiello has done a great job for you guys and I'm happy to see the Jaspers on the rise. NY Hoops is in a far better place when all of the local teams are playing well. If we can get back to that then the Garden would want triple headers like they used to have regardless of how SJU feels about it. Good luch the rest of the way except for when you lace em up against the Gaels.
