Tim Effin Howard! I know it was a friendly, but Howard showed why he is one of the best Goalkeepers in the world. And he's from New Brunswick! Way to go USA!

First ever U.S. win in Mexico City. 1-0. Third loss all time for the Mexican national team at Aztec. Costa Rica in 2001, Paraguay in 2007 (?) and now the US. Tough place to play with the elevation, smog and rabid crowd.

Liverpool should be mid pack at best. Chelsea starts with 2 goals in the first 6 mins v. Wigan. It looks like its the two Manchester Clubs, Chelsea, maybe Arsenal, Spurs, & Newcastle vying for the top four spots. City and United appear to be head and shoulders in the front of the elite group again.

Watched the game. Fellani was better than I have ever seen him. Played an offensive midfield with a passion. Osman hit a cross bar and Fellani came around the ManU defender and hit the post. Jagielka made a save on the goal line. He was awesome on defense as was Distin. The pace was fantastic. Once the goal was scored Goodison was electric. Players were exhausted, Villa Saturday.

Heard van Persie was dreadful. Was that the case? This may be one of the deals that's bad for both teams, Man U. and Arsenal. Not sure about the chemistry for Man U with Rooney and RVP. Go Everton, and Tim Howard!!!

RVP didn't have much time to show his skills. Baines shadowed him. Came in the game at the 68th minute, I believe. Everton defense didn't give Man U much. They played with the ball away from the net but no tough saves for Tim Howard. Their one great chance was knocked away by Jagielka at goal line wth his left foot. Jelasevic was cramping or had a hammy issue when he left the game under his own power. Distin was on the ground at games end and had to be helped of. I thought exhaustion but it appears to be a leg injury. Check out newsnoweverton.com for more. Ed '68 here in Saratoga County, NY

Yes - this time Timmy needed some help from a stellar defense, but we could always play defense. You are correct about Fellani too!

Chelsea v. Newcastle, match of the day. Interested to see Chelsea's new additions, assuming they can play. Moses from Wigan and the defender from Marseille.

So much for Newcastle. I am afraid to say this, but I am cautiously optimistic about Everton. Good start, but probably can't afford any injuries.
