Any chance for a potential Grasso move to Manhattan now that Masiello is out the door?

Good question. Not sure. Can see us saying no to a lateral move but not an upgrade (i.e. from asst to HC).

I do not see Grasso getting the Manhattan job as the following people have already been mentioned.
Matt Grady - Current assistant who coached under Pitino at Louisville. Also has deep ties to Hoop Group as he was their Elite Camp Director.
Orlando Antigua - Bronx kid who is a Calipari disciple and one of the best recruiters in the country.
Andy Toole - another Hoop Group guy with a good reputation.

Andy Toole from Robert Morris makes a lot of sense. If Toole gets the Jasper job, then Jared might apply for the Robert Morris job.

As much as I would hate to lose him, Grasso to Manhattan makes a lot of sense on many levels:
- JG has paid his dues and is deserving of a shot at being a HC - He has proven he can recruit top talent in NYC - Hiring JG would give Manhattan an instant leg up on Iona, as he can simply rip and replace everything he was doing at Iona at Manhattan - Terrific communication skills and would actually be an upgrade over Masiello when it comes to dealing with the press and promoting the Manhattan program, and that's not a knock on Masiello

If MC allows Steve to return, I will bet they add the following into his contract: 1) He must complete his degree within a set period of time. 2) His compensation is initially reduced to offset the circus he created. 3) Similar to Iona's approach, the full value of whatever his contract is worth becomes the buyout figure should he decide to leave during the term. and 4) If retained he has to hold a press conference and fully disclose what he did and apologize for his actions. Everyone makes mistakes in life. He is a young man and everyone deserves a second chance. I am not saying that second chance should be back with MC but they do accept him back and if he fully discloses what he did and asks for forgiveness and thanks MC for accepting him back, I am sure the majority of the MC alumni, fan base and the community will accept him back. Live and learn Steve, perhaps this will make you a better person.

pitino also said they talked about the south florida job Thursday, game was at 10pm, so they did this before they lost? Search firm hired some time in March and paid first payment on 3/12--before Heath was informed he was fired. According to a document obtained by the Tribune through a public records request, the firm's initial $30,000 invoice to USF for the men's basketball search was dated March 12. That was the day of USF's 72-68 loss against Rutgers in the AAC tournament — or two days before Heath was told of his firing by USF assistant athletic director Barry Clements.
