Would be nice to blow these guys out to get some revenge for last year's 70 foot miracle debacle. RPI Forecast has us pegged as a 22.5 point favorite. While we can't overlook this game, I think it should be a good opportunity to test out some new sets and lineups. I for one would like to see the following starting lineup:
PG - AJ SG - Armand SF - Bowman PF - Hines C - Laury
This would give us Poole, Sledge, Williams and Robinson coming off the bench. Not too shabby.

I expect Marist to be fired up for this game. Its like the start of a new season for them, and the first season ain't going too well. Its like a second chance. If we sleep on them, it'll be a problem.

To others.....Whats with the sudden rush to get Sledge back in the game...English has been doing a fine job at the point, and is a inside and outside scoring threat...He also helps on needed rebounding...I would not change a thing...A we enter MAAC portion of the season he will get his relief time off the bench...I realize our guard line up is a bit unorthodox, but its working fine...Our 3 point shooting has been a big weapon for us, and part of the reason is opponents cannot concentrate on one threat..

having english at the point makes us more dangerous since he is another shooter and in the half court more effective than sledge, i like sledge coming off the bench as a spark and ramps up the tempo when starters might be getting a little tired by the end of the year hines starting would be a serious matchup problem for others against us- 2 big men who can pass and 3 shooters

Couple of things: 1. Comments about Marist, were probably very similar to what Seton Hall fans were saying about FDU, before today's game. 2. We've had trouble with Marist the last couple of years. Kemp is a big guy, so I don't see any way Hines starts. If DL gets in foul trouble it's nice to have a big coming off the bench. 3. I don't care what the coach tells the team. It will be hard to get up for an 0-7 team. 4. Nice to have a home game.

Make sure to come out. They will be raising the MAAC championship banner into the rafters and presenting the players with their rings.

Cluess should show them this video over and over:
Games like this are the one's Iona needs to win if we are going to be the team to beat in the MAAC.

Maac games are Maac games; They are never easy.

I fully expect this to be an ugly win for us. One where we take the foot off the pedal a bit, don't have the same intensity as we did the last few games, but somehow win in a real ugly fashion by 5-10 points based on pure talent alone. It's only normal that these games happen a few times in a season, the important thing is just to get out of the building with a W.

I think we win handily in this game. There will not be a let down as we win double digits while in control the whole game

No reason for a let down. I'll take that one step further - It's important that we do not have a let down. Need to avoid the pattern we had last year of letting inferior teams back into games they did not belong in. I know we will have some tough games, where the shooting touch eludes them or they get into foul trouble and we lose to a team we should beat. Important that this isn't one of those.

Marist got blown out in their first five games. In the last two they've been in them down the stretch. This is a desparate team with a new lease on life playing their first MAAC game. Don't sleep on them. Come out, defend the guards so they don't get easy penetration to dump off to Kemp for a easy lay up. Keep the pedal to the metal.
