Not going to be an easy game by any stretch but we should win. These guys have some solid bodies down low and of course Mason and some other sharpshooters from the outside. Hopefully the guys come out with fire in their belly and take out all their frustration from this losing streak on the Purps. I think Bowman will be the X factor in this game as I would imagine he'd be matched up against Mason.

for heaven's sake, Niagara is ranked 317, if you use the rpi formula we should be 14pt fav. when we play teams better than us everyone is confident, when we play teams worse than us you all get worried. Look over wins and loses of the Cluess era, we beat the teams we are suppose to and lose to the teams we are suppose to and that's how we get to 20 wins every year. i don't have time to look but i bet someone does, maybe 3 games a year you couldn't predict by using the teams rpi's

Iona is 5-1 with the starting lineup of English, Bowman, Armand,Williams and Laury. This is a very talented lineup, it is the group that has the best chance of making this team special, hopefully Williams is back and they can run with it. Use Poole, Hines, Gomez/Sledge for depth and lets see what can happen the rest of the way.

Niagara has won 3 of their last 4. The game they lost was to St. Bonnie by 2 pts. Iona has lost 4 in a row, including a 13 pt lost to St. Bonnie. I don't see a gimmie here. It helps that Niagara has been on the road dealing with this snow for the last 3 days. They could be a little travel fatigued.

Team has looked very bad last few games, mostly defensively, but I still think this team has potential to have a good ending to the season.

Here we go new year with new opportunities. The past is the past. The reality is that we need a win to start the process in a positive direction. A win creates energy and allows clear focus. A loss creates further confusion for players and coaches. A losing streak creates tension and hesitation. Coach Cluess has to get the team to relax and play with enthusiasm from the start today. As a coach this was one of the biggest challenges. Iona has to believe and we have to believe. Sean, Tre and Mike show that leadership and play hard all game. Mason will be motivated playing in front of family in his hometown. Play hard, fast and with heart! Let's go GAELS!
