Understand we will likely be playing a game at MSG this season. Anyone know details? Anything more on this? Everything is always so secretive at Iona. I guess you can get away with this when no outside media covers the team. Frustrating. I think the new team manager that posted here was "silenced" and why no Meet the Gaels it was my only chance to get pre season knowledge?

Coaches at A-10 media day pick UMASS 4 and Mason 13 out of 14. Davidson picked ahead of Mason. Mason has a big eligible this year from Ga. Tech. Fordham picked dead last again.

Well it's early but at least 3 guys on that board seem pretty shocked with that conclusion !!

No way Pecora could survive another year if they came in last, could he?

Didn't see this posted anywhere else on the board. The other day Francessa questioned TC's strategy re the 7:00 AM Wofford game. Something like "what's he thinking". Was tempted to call up and provide him with Ct Bill's 5-year Blue Ribbon RPI breakdown of local schools.

Interesting tidbit regarding our game against Wake. Former Iona verbal commitment Darius Leonard 6'9" F. is playing for Wake as a graduate transfer. He committed to Willard but then claimed he did not hear from the new staff once they were in place. He decided to commit to Kent State and transferred to Campbell after his freshman season. He averaged 10.2 points and 4.9 rebounds per game last season. He chose Wake over Virginia Tech, Miami and Drexel.

Re Arkansas, per Goodman's Blog. Underrated teams:
1. Arkansas Razorbacks: They didn’t lose much from a team that nearly made the NCAA tournament a season ago. They return one of the best big men in the country in sophomore Bobby Portis, as well as leading scorer Rashad Madden and key contributor Michael Qualls. Mike Anderson's team received just eight total votes in the USA Today poll.
"They are probably the second best team in the SEC," one coach said. "They beat Kentucky last season, have most of their guys back and are good enough to win the league."
Said another: "Look at their quality wins last year, and they return everyone."

"Both the Gaels and the Razorbacks are projected to make/do big things in the NCAA tourney" - I like that!
