While on "permanent leave while getting degree" does Masiello get paid? It saddens me that he retains job after lying and not meeting the qualifications for his position when hired. I hope Manhattan College explains their thought process on this instead of avoiding the issue by hiding behind the cloak of "it's a personnel issue/matter and we cannot discuss".

"After participating in graduation ceremonies at the University of Kentucky, he enrolled in summer courses with the intention of completing his degree, but never followed through to make sure that the degree was awarded."
Say what?

I don't care what anyone says about other schools assault arrests, DWI's, kids not finishing school, jucos, transfers, etc...
This is the lowest of lows of any MAAC school.
“I made a mistake that could have cost me my job at an institution I love..."
HE WAS LEAVING THE INSTUTION HE "LOVES"! Manhattan College has compromised its institutional integrity.
Embarrassing for Manhattan and a hit below the belt to all other MAAC members.

Moral of the story. Win and you can get away with pretty much anything today. Shame on manhattan. At least it keeps our rivalry sizzling for at least another year .

If they wanted to keep him, just say he made a mistake asked for forgiveness and we've decided to give him a second chance. "Never followed through to make sure that the degree was awarded?" In other words all these years, he never questioned why he didn't have a diploma, just assumed he graduated and put it on his resume. Didn't wonder why other people had a framed diploma in their office and he didnt have one. The President of Manhattan College is saying this. Isn't he some sort of Catholic Priest?

10 credits short of a degree. Pretty much a semester. Hard to see how he'll do that over a summer.
I assume MC has tied him up for at least 3 years with a whopper of a buyout. If not they are fools, because Massiello will forget all about this second chance as soon as he has another offer in hand.
Should be a great atmosphere when the Jasper's visit Iona next season. I'm sure we'll see some creative signs and hear some funny chants.
This is the decision I expected MC to make. Didn't expect it to be done so clumsily though.

francessa killing the jaspers He's an ignorant turd who should be ignored. Francessa is the living embodiment of the saying that anything is possible in America, no matter how unlikely or unjustified.

I believe Manhattan is waiting for the NACC Tournament to be over before we hear a decision. I don't they or the NCAA would be happy with Manhattan headlines taking away from the big dance. OR... They wait until the day of the Championship Game so that it is cushioned by the Big Game. Well played Manhattan. A shame though.

I hope the Student Section takes advantage of this next year when Manhattan comes to New Ro. I'm hoping for some "College Dropout!" and "LIAR" chants. Or something to that effect.
