Hard to believe that its not even Dec 14th and Marist already has 9 losses. That's one month of basketball.

Siena drops to 3-5 after losing at home to Albany 77-68.
Even though this game has nothing to do with the MAAC or any of our OOC opponents, have to give props to VCU for their double OT win at home against formerly unbeaten #23 Northern Iowa, 93-87.

Just got back from the TU Center where UAlbany put a 77-68 hurting on Siena and it wasn't even that close. UA got the lead early in the first half and never gave it up. They were up by as much as 15 in the second half. There were 10,000 people there and the place was pretty quiet. Got to speak with Patsos before the game. He is a really nice guy and very approachable. I asked him how he plans to defend the Gaels, he laughed and said he has no idea but was open to suggestions. He also said he loves going to the Beechmont for a beer and a burger when in New Ro. I also had a short conversation with Rich Ensor. I think he loves hanging around the TU Center if I didn't know better I might mistake him for a Siena fan. He told me why Laury was suspended for the Rider game. I won't disclose it here as I think it's a private matter.

albanygael, David Laurey's arrest is in today's Journal News. Was involved in a fight with a roommate (reportedly). I just hope the guy he hit was a guy.
As for Siena, imagine how those UA games would go if they were played at UA. Guess I'll have to read the MAAC board to see how the Siena fans spin it. I'm sure most of the blame will be directed toward JP.

Ic59 while reading the board I was under the impression that DL was suspended for a team rule violation so I was surprised when Ensor said he had been involved in a fight. Since I had no idea it would be in the media I thought it was best to let it go. It appears the college has handled it properly. As for Siena Patsos is getting the blame but based on what I saw last night Dean Smith wouldn't win with what they have for a team.

The Maac continues its awfulness: Manhattan loses to Rutgers, St. Peter's loses to the hall and Quinny loses at BU.

Joebird beat me to it, but the scores were:
St. Peter's (4-7) lost at Seton Hall 67-52. Manhattan (2-6) lost to Rutgers at MSG 63-55. Quinnipiac (3-5) lost at Boston University 71-68.
and another RPI hit: Florida Gulf Coast drops to 8-2, losing at home to Florida Int'l 69-63.

Seton Hall is good. No shame there. Rutgers is bad. I'm guessing the Jaspers will put it together just in time to play us. Quinny loss on the road isn't horrible. The league does stink so far. Thankfully we don't have any real bad losses yet. Hopefully we can get our heads together and build the team for February/March.
