That is an incredible piece. My hat is off to IW for the courage in putting himself out there. It reminds me of another former Gael and the young lady who kept him on straight and narrow. I have already called him and told him that piece is must see.

Damn, I read IW's story in my office today and had to close my door as I was crying my eyes out. I watched the video after coming home and the water works started again.
I remember Super touting IW after we got him from his junior college in Florida. Knowing that Super is a good judge of talent, I was hopeful that IW would live up to expectations. Since he took the court in a Gaels' uniform I have been impressed with his hoops ability. I often wondered why he took a leave last season and now I know.
Not only is this man a tremendous basketball player, he is a hero. The sacrifice he made for his brother, Kevin, last year speaks volumes about IW's character -- he gave up the the thing he loved most for the person he has loved since childhood. It is inspirational, shows great courage, and was a truly selfless act. I do not think I know anyone with the guts that IW has shown. I am happy for him that he has a loving family, the support of TC, the staff, his teammates and Ille Menendez.
No matter what happens on the hardwood this weekend, IW is a winner in the true sense of the word. I am very proud to have a man like IW as a part of the Iona College Family. God Bless and keep you, your family, and friends safe, Ockee.
Go Gaels!!!

Powerful story. Have to wonder about people who think taking students from rough backgrounds is wrong. This is a special person.

Isaiah has played the last two games like a man unburdened. Hopefully, he feels the support out here for him. It does not change his situation, but support is there. Again, it took incredible courage to do what he did for his brother, and it took incredible courage to put himself out there in that piece. As he said, he is not afraid of anything on a basketball court.
