This is a big mistake. I hope I am wrong. And if you were Slice, would you leave Kentucky to come here? Who is this Iowa St. assistant, Tau?

Mullin doesn't have the personality to be a HC. He's too nice of a guy. Plus he has absolutely no experience as a coach which makes this a total crapshoot. They talk about Fred Hoiberg doing it. What does Fred Hoiberg have to do with it? THEY ARE DIFFERENT PEOPLE!!! Mullin could help the program more from the outside.. This has Louie's fingerprints all over it. How have his coaching choices worked out in the past? He's too old to have such a big influence on who they hire. And, more importantly, he can't be objective when it comes to Mullin.

Interesting, although this does appear to be an Iowa State official website. It also appears that Hoiberg had coaching experience in the NBA. Another difference between him and Mullin.

Turning into a worst case scenario for us, losing JG, possibly. Makes we wish that we had Jared, as well as Tim on a long term contract.

This might end up like the University of Houston's hiring of favorite son Clyde Drexler in 1998. After two miserable years trying to right the ship at his alma mater, Drexler quit so he could "spend more time with his family."
Two shaky Big East coaching hires on the same day. Wow.
