Canisius improves to 13-17 and 8-11 in the MAAC after winning at home 65-60 over Niagara, who drop to 7-23 and 5-14 in the MAAC. Phil Valenti led Canisius with 14 points, while Emile Blackman tallied 27 for Niagara in a losing effort.
Drexel improves to 5-23 after winning at home 74-64 over Delaware who drop to 7-21.
UC Santa Barbara now 14-12 after winning at Northridge 78-63

Canisius beats Niagara at home. Assuming Monmouth beats Rider tomorrow believe that would lock up the 7 seed for Canisius, and set up a likely QF game for us against the Griffs. If canisus beats Iona and Manhattan loses both, canisus is 6th, may be another outside chance scenario to move Manhattan into 7 or 8.

Monmouth now 24-6 and 16-3 in the MAAC clinches the conference crown after winning at home 79-58 over Rider, who drop to 11-19 and 7-12 in the MAAC. Micah Seaborn led the Hawks with 19 points and Monmouth shot nearly 51% for the game.
Marist gets their second nice win in a row, 91-77 over Quinnipiac. The Red Foxes are now 7-22 and 4-16 in the MAAC, while Quinny drops to 9-19 and 6-13 in the conference.
Valparaiso now 25-5 after winning in OT 80-76 at Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Akron now 22-7 after winning at home 89-54 over Bowling Green.

resumeman, Monmouth didn't clinch the regular season crown, though they will, tomorrow. They did clinch the #1 seed, however.

Updated MAAC clinching scenarios: February 26, 2016 Updated after tonight's victories by Iona, Marist, and Monmouth, here are the latest clinching scenarios in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference leading up to the 2016 MAAC Men's and Women's Basketball Championships at the Times Union Center next week: Monmouth (16-3): Has clinched Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship, and no worse than an automatic bid into the National Invitation Tournament. Hawks will finish as #1 seed, and will play either the #8 seed or #9 seed in the quarterfinals on Friday, March 4, at 7 p.m.

If two teams finish with the same regular season record, I consider them Co-Champions. Others can feel differently. I do understand that somebody has to be the higher seed, but that's just due to tie breakers. But as a realist, there is no way that Monmouth or Siena loses tomorrow.

Delaware drops to 7-22 after losing at home to Elon 77-59.
Drexel drops to 5-24 after losing at home to Northeastern 61-59.
Texas Southern now 15-12 after winning at home 77-54 over Alabama A&M

Looks like there is some issues with Siena. Watch the presser below... the interesting part is at the 6 minute mark. I always liked the kids game. He was always working hard away from the ball and he is one of their keys to breaking the press. Patios seems to always be talking guys up except this guy. Strange.

Siena now 20-11 and 13-7 in the MAAC (3rd seed) after winning 80-65 at home over Quinnipiac, who drop to 9-20 and 6-14 in the MAAC. Nico Clareth led the Saints with 24 points and Brett Bisping garnered 18 rebounds.
Monmouth now 25-6 and 17-3 in the MAAC (1st seed) after winning 77-68 at home over Niagara, who fall to 7-24 and 5-15 in conference play. The Hawks only shot 23-74 for the game (31%) with Justin Robinson putting up 25 points on 5-18 shooting.
Valparaiso now 26-5 after winning at Green Bay 70-68.
Tulsa slips to 19-10 after losing at Memphis 92-82.

Rider now 12-19 and 8-12 in the MAAC after holding on to win at home 60-57 over Manhattan who drop to 12-17 and 9-11 in the conference. Khalil Thomas led the Broncs with 19 points.
Oregon State now 17-10 after winning at home over Washington State 69-49.
