I always thought that the Siena coach would win COY since Siena was picked to finish last, and they'll probably finish in the 3-6 area. But when you consider that Iona: 1. Lost who many consider their best player just before the start of the season. 2. Had only TWO guys who played last year. And we were also w/o CC who was a late (and a surprise) departure. 3. Had numerous injuries (I'm sure other teams did, also) throughout the season. 4. Had to rally his team, from being down, 7-15, in the second week of February.
I don't see any way that Dunleavy can win, but the League probably would be happy if they go into Albany with the home team having the ROY AND COY. Of course if TC doesn't win, I hope his assistants use the 'vote' as a motivational tool.

Correct,I was at the ST Mary’s game and Rutland was cheap shorted, everyone had his back and it was ugly, spilled into the lobby outside the gym doors,it somehow got calmed down but was close to getting ugly, this was when we had the Manufactures Hanover Christmas tourney every year at Mulcahy Gym. Exactly!

If Quinnipiac wins their last game, who gets the NIT guarantee ? We do

Hard to argue if Christian or Dunleavy get COY, but TC certainly deserves it as much as anyone. You got to be friggin kidding me. This shouldn't be even close. Agree with you Greg. This "debate" actually is another indicator of how bad the league is this year.

Just a guess, but I don't expect either Mr. Newman or Mr. Raver to stop by and offer congratulations.

You do raise a good point--the MAAC is not going to give 2 awards to one team, and none of them being the first place team. Young will win POY and Pickett will win ROY, but neither of those coaches will also get it while Cluess and Iona receive no honors. (That said, McGill could receive DPOY.) So, because of the MAAC's tradition of fairness, I'll amend my earlier comments and say Cluess could get COY. But don't be shocked if it's Christian. BTW, can someone remind me, has Cluess ever won COY?

Just a guess, but I don't expect either Mr. Newman or Mr. Raver to stop by and offer congratulations. I invited the idiot MTS to join us here last night on Twitter, responding to a tweet he sent me about a month ago saying "IJC sucks". His response.."enjoy the NIT". Lol..the douchebag is devastated over the way Iona has turned their season around. Only thing that can make this a perfect weekend is if Siena loses at Niagara tomorrow and winds up in the PIG. As far as COY, Cluess deserves it, no question about it. Breaking news. Thread coming soon why Cluess should win..I know you all can't wait..lol

Lots of talk of 20 loss seasons and TC being lost without JG. Cluess is a magician and should have earned the full confidence of the fan base at this point. The only missing piece to his legacy is winning a few big “up” games and pulling off an upset in the NCAAs. I still believe this will happen before he retires from Iona.

Absolutely. That bad boy brought us a lot of luck!
It's hard to break in a new "charm", but I'm glad you have a new one that works.
Iona never played well in the black uniforms. Anything "Iona" needs to have some maroon and gold in it. I'm that way about clothes, too. I have suit and tie combinations I will not wear to court based on past performance. LOL I can't believe I'm 67; practicing law for more than 40 years; and still have these quirks!
The bottom line is that, while I know that my actions have no effect on how the team performs/ot how a jury views a client's case, I'm not taking any chances! LOL
Go Gaels!!!

I typically believe in this team no matter what. Even after the throttling from Rider to end the season last year I was confident we could win the Maac tourney. However with Siena hitting a 3 to go up by 13 with about 8 mins left I had completely given up hope and turned off the game in disgust. Thankfully that was rock bottom.
