I honestly felt if we lost to Purdue, and the rest of Quarterfinal games broke as it would 'on paper', we would be the strongest team in the consolation bracket. That said, Maryland is probably pretty confident after that nice 2nd half comeback yesterday. Gaels need to shore up the D and put the hammer down - there was no reason to let West Mich get that close yesterday. Maybe this isn't a typical Maryland team but a W here would still look impressive on the resume. Maryland has been struggling a bit on offense; of course our lack of desire on D will help that out a bit. But I like our chances in this one.

Best case scenario tomorrow is if W. Michigan, Iona, and Purdue win. That would be a perfect trifecta.

Also, is that you on the Purdue board? If so, based on Guy's tweet: Final RPIs in 2010-11: Iona 68, Indiana 191; in 2009-2010: Iona 86, Indiana 221

Bill, I just watched it. I'm glad the team had some fun off the court. They took care of business today against Maryland and should be proud of their showing in Puerto Rico.
Go Gaels!!

Z I guess we're all feeling a lot better after the early season tournament then we were this time last year, eh? This team can do some special things this year.

No doubt, Bill. I remember getting home from our family get together last year, turning on the computer and seeing we lost to Bryant. This year I was home watching the Gaels just dominate the second half and beating an ACC team by 26. Nice way to start Thanksgiving week.
We could use a "W" by Purdue tonight.
Go Gaels!!!

Yeah, last year we came home from the loss to Bryant, 0-3 and had an A-10 team, Richmond, waiting for us and we literally saved our season. This year we come home from a win against Maryland and we have an A-10 team waiting for us on Wed. and we need to take care of business and not spend three days basking in the glow of PR.

I'll be leaving PR today in a slightly better mood than I was when I left Cleveland last year. (Coach said I should have asked for a refund.)
Team came back to the hotel greeted by cheers from the fans who were there. Great kids--really appreciated the applause.
Coaches hung around and were so pleased with the progress. They did mention the upcoming St Joes game as a real difficult challenge.
It looks like Taaj has recurring issues with his Achilles tendon (inflammation). Coach kept him out after he got poked in the eye as a precaution. Randy brought a lot of energy into the game as his replacement. He manages to find the ball regularly.
