According to the MAAC Board, and quoting NJ Hoops, it was stated that Keon is leaving. A class kid, and an excellent student, he will be missed. It was reported at the reception at Mo's, that he has had a recent surgery, with no date set for his return. Since he has already had a redshirt year, I'm guessing he's going (if he's going) to a lower level school. Did not get the feeling that he was high on the list of the new coaching staff, but, if true, we really need another big for next year.
PS, Don't let the Oldtimer read this!

Keon was one of my favorite players. He was as tenacious as they come. I'm hoping the report is wrong.

If this turns out to be so, it only confirms my long thought suspicions that his leg injury is of the nature that will not allow him sustained time....It is a shame.... What might have been....I wish him well...His long hours in the gym were a testament to his attitude.
We now have a serious problem in the front court. ...with only 5 left, and one of them more of a 2/3 (McGill), plus you will probably not see Pelcher and Rodriquez on the court at the same time, it MUST be addressed before the season starts..A key injury could be fatal....
As to the Vermont game at home, please reserve me a seat next to IChoops. That will be fun...I believe they now have 3 Iona Prep recruits on the squad....I will of course be rooting for Iona, but there will be a few "I told you so's" heard...
Aside.......Heading down to OTB...Hate that place...Run like a dirt house, with clientele to match..The stench of outside urination can be smelled blocks away...The only Bookies in history that have gone bankrupt....Its political patronage is hard to believe..I knew dozens of local bookies that would have run it right.....
Go Gaels!!!!!!

Keon certainly was my favorite player. In my opinion with his type of frame he may be prone to injuries due to the weight bearing down on his lower half. He's one player I think would do well to take some weight off.
I'm not worried at all about the season. I'm comfortable with 4 guards. We'll have plenty of strong legs and will run circles around our opponents this season.
Rebounding by committee when Alejo isn't on the floor.

If this is true with Keon leaving, I would think the staff already has a big onboard.

If this is true its a damn shame. If he can get healthy this kid will be very good one day. This reminds me of John Estick.

Keon is much more disciplined than John was both on the court and in the classroom. Keon will be sorely missed. He will also be very successful in business with his drive and determination. I just wish his degree could be from Iona.

If this is true with Keon leaving, I would think the staff already has a big onboard. We have players that can get up and down the court. Size isn't everything when it comes to rebounding. I'm more than happy with McFadden and the Serb at the 4. So long as we don't have an injuries we'll be fine. Keon certainly wasn't a rebounding machine at the 4 and in my opinion had difficulty getting up and down the court.

I dont think Keon fit into the dribble drive offense I think many expected him to be an Alex Franklin type player. He's not. He can score yes, but I'm pretty sure over a pro longed period of time his +- would be -.

Not comfortbale with this board yet. I was trying to reply to ICHoops. I thought you were a big fan of Keon's? I think your wrong about his rebounding, he seemed to me to be a very good rebounder. In limited minutes he got a lot of boards.
As for Epatrick, I loved Williams but not sure he was as good of a player as Estick, even if he was more disciplined.
Finally I always doubted all those who posted no one was leaving, now(if this iss true) we have two leaving which I would say is normal with a change of coach.
Can we say 5 guard offense ;D!
