Repeat: if you'd like to say his name, you are welcome to. I cannot, because I was asked not to. Unless you were as well? Maybe we have the same source, LOL. As an aside, I googled "transformer" and the name of the recruit and came up with no matches. So I wonder if we're actually talking about 2 different players? Google "Optimus Prime" and the recruit's name. Epic fail by GuyF for not thinking of that. But yes, that be the guy. As I said, you are more than welcome to post his name--unless you yourself have been sworn to secrecy. And your cartoon post is the best I've seen on this board yet. Extremely well done!

Thanks. From what I hear it's pretty much a done deal. So, sure I could say the name, but this is fun. On top of that, as much info as I've given, any NY basketball connoisseur, should've figured it out by now. I'm very excited about the upcoming season. This might just be what will take us over the top, and make us competitive, even in March. Go Gaels!

Shame on Tau for forgetting Anthony Glovers long lost brother. Was wondering what became of him after not qualifying for Seton Hall a couple of years back. Looks like he went to junior college at Eastern Utah and became a Juco Div. I 1st team All-American. www.njcaa.org/sports_awards.cfm?category=Award%20Winners&sid=4&divid=1&slid=2This would be a huge pickup if the staff gets it done. Very huge.

Looks like he would have 2 years of eligibility. "Optimus Prime" also works for several other recruits, for what its worth.

Ya I dropped the ball on this one. Ive been snooping around again and got a nice email from someone close to the college hoops scene. _________ "That would be a huge get for Iona. A guy I spoke with out in CA, who follows JuCos for HoopScoop and another organization, was raving about him. It made me wonder why Lavin didn't make more of a pitch to him, but good for Iona. I'm going to be at a couple of the big events in July and will definitely keep my ear to the grindstone. This is the big month in recruiting and I'll be sure to tell you as soon as I see any of the Iona coaches and which players they're watching. A big prep school coach in North Carolina (from Queens originally) I met in April said he thought Iona made the best hire of anyone in the area and said he'd be happy to send his kids up there. Fairfield has finally stepped up in recruiting and is getting some quality transfers."
